Big mistake this and reeks of how desperate we are. 

Hes no world-beater anyway and given his criminal record, the only conclusion I can reach is this... 

We are signing him because he is FREE, will take ridiculously LOW WAGES and is DESPERATE for a club. 

Its OK everybody saying Lennon will sort him - he may do, he also may not. 

Even if he does have a bad morning and beats half the squad to a pulp... he will be released with the rest of his wages paid to him, the lad loses virtually nothing.

I heard all the moans and groans when we signed Juke, then all the sheepish denials when he came good.

Give Madine a chance to prove the detractors either right or wrong! We have no option but to trust the manager's judgement.

I'm never a fan of these fucking oinks who can't stay out of trouble. Ill give him a chance but if he's in trouble at Bolton I hope he's sacked immediately.

We still pay loan fees and wages. We've signed plenty that way. Fact of like is we can't afford transfer fees.

You're right, but I honestly think that it's getting to breaking point now.

The well is properly dry.

Of course I may well be wrong, but I fear that these are the last knockings of Gartside's empire.

Something big is going to break soon and it'll either be new owners or administration.

I honestly believe that.

The well being dry is down to FFP though, you can only spend what you earn so even though it's a case of us spending next to no money and continuing to reduce costs, that doesn't mean we're heading into administration. Just that the lack of quality in the team will continue to suffer.

They've been round the world and back again trying to flog the club to any old buyer. I think that's fairly well known at this point. 

They know the club needs to be sold.

But that's my point.

If everything's under control and there's no problem with the debt and they've got a robust business model, why are they so desperate to sell?

I know there've been rumours for a couple of years but it's all looking more and more like ED and Gartside can't wait to offload the club to somebody else.

So why's that?

And, more worryingly, what happens if they can't find a buyer?

lets give the lad a chance, perhaps Lennon has seen something in him. When i saw him recently he looked like a decent target man who could hold the ball up well, which means he's a younger version of Heskey and Davies.

Even the club gets sold to a backer who has cash to burn, would that make a difference as to what we can spend?

I though the idea of FFP was that clubs can only spend money proportionate to the turnover, which would still remain the same no matter who owns the club right? 

I don't really understand the business side of things so if anybody could explain I would be grateful.

You can spend more than you earn, there are loop holes around the system.

You could always spend what you want and just pay the fine.

It's going to be hard enough for Lennon to assemble a competitive squad on this budget without discarding potential signings on the basis of their media-reported morality. Madine isn't a star striker but neither were Bournemouth's championship-winning front men.
He may turn out to be good for us as he's a poacher who could thrive with nippy players like Clough or Clayton around him. And he's young.
