Good point y2j. I hear it's been proposed in parliament that the use of the words "news" and "nixon" in the same sentence should now be a criminal offence.

I want confirmation from an independent source that nixon got the date right. Personally I think some staffer put that on for him.

I keep seeing clubs in our division signing players daily but we have to wait till the window somehow...why is that?

Our lack of action plus the willingness to unload a Wilkinson for a measly 75k has me a tad concerned I must admit.  75k will just about buy Fat Phil his new Mercedes this year. Beginning to think the bookies might be right about us..

Officially yes but a lot of deals are already done before July 1st and registered then. I don't expect miracles but I have to say the lack of even a confirmation that Madine will definitely sign next week is starting to concern me too.

We will sign players. They may not be world beaters or top class players but we will sign some. I will save my pessimism until the end of July. If we haven't bagged anyone by then I will start to worry a little. There's plenty of time yet. The window isn't even open and the big kick off is no where near yet.

I think we'll sign someone for sure. I don't expect us to get players like Campo or Okocha et al but I would be lying if I said I felt confident we'll be able to land players who will actually strengthen us in terms of quality. I trust Neil but am worried that he simply won't have the resources to sign the people we really do need. I guess that's pessimistic of me but given what has happened over the last few years I'm setting the expectations bar low. That way if we do wind up bagging some genuine quality I'll be pleasantly surprised and more fired up for the new season. I hope we do that but I daren't say I think we will. 

Quick question in case I missed something. Is Madine actually confirmed as joining us?

As far as I know theres no official confirmation from the club that Madine has signed but from what I hear and read elsewhere it appears to be a done deal. I guess we won't know for certain until next Wednesday. I would be surprised if he isn't our player by the time pre season training begins.

Thanks. I really hope it happens even though it means I'll be forking out at least a fiver to Cancer Research. A tenner if it's announced on 1st July. 

SSN does seem to be behind the times with us though. Lonergan's already gone and isn't mentioned on their list either. Bogdan is, Beckford and believe it or not Chungy.
