You think they deserve applause for being forced not to do something? Something they lied to you about during the election, how pathetic are you?
Had it not been for the campaign to stop them they'd have forced them through, luckily the publicity built by the rest of us stopped the cuts and made it political suicide for Osborne to force them through. Don't mistake this for compassion it's yet another example of how the Tories are too basic to have any real principles and are only swayed by public opinion.
Possibly the most predictable post ever.
You can't force a government to do anything. They did this to help out the low paid.
You moan about the cuts, the government changes its mind, and you still moan.
Just fuck off. The sad fact is the Tories could secure world peace, make everyone rich and you'd still fucking moan.

i know i shouldn't rise to this, but if they cared so much about the people why did they think this would be a good idea in the first place?

They did this to help the low paid? How basic are you? Do you think it was Osbornes grand plan to propose tax cuts, get shot down and then pull them after?
And clearly you can force a government to do something, why do you think Osborne didn't push them through? It's because he wants the Torie leadership and knows he couldn't afford to take a battering - even from fellow Torie MPs who opposed them.
The fact that you were happy being lied to about the cuts, then happy they were going through and then happy they're not tells me you haven't a clue/don't give a shit. You'll go along with whatever Dave and George suggest regardless of what it actually means, get a grip and get an informed opinion you sheep.

Smoke and Mirrors. They have already slashed police budgets to the bone so when George announces no more police cuts everyone think he has had an about turn. Absolute rubbish because the damage has already been done. Now if he introduced an increase in working tax credits and the police budget then that would have been newsworthy!

The bit I think will really surprise poeple are when the next round of cuts hits local councils. Some services already cut to the bone, and laudable though it is, ringfencing additional money for social care is brilliant, but leaves other services really really vulnerable.

Indeed and I notice that councils are being given authority to sell off buildings and property to fund adult services. And it still wont be enough!

1874, did you ever decide something and then change your mind at a later date?
That's all that's happened here. The Tories came up with a plan to tackle the benefit culture and have had a re-think.
As I've said, if the Tories made the world a great place you'd still moan.

Our bins are going every three weeks. We recycle everything we can and it is still a struggle.

Child poverty has gone from two Million to four Million in this country alone, since this selfish government took over.
Maybe that's the reason why.

Yes, it's the governments fault that people keep having kids they can't afford.

Showing how simple you are again. Nothing to do with people having kids they can't provide for, everything to do with workers being underpaid with nothing to fall back on in terms of government support. All the while Osbornes running to the EU to make sure bankers bonuses don't get sanctioned, tax breaks are given out to the wealthy and multi national corporations are continuing to pay absolutely nothing in tax.
You're utterly embarrassing yourself if you want to pretend the Tories are for the working man, accept who it is that they serve and make your points from that perspective.

Why are you lot arguing with Whittam?
You wouldn't argue with a goat or a lamp-post would you?
And their opinions are just as "real" and valid as Whittam's.
Pointless exercise.
