The presumption is that we get some money but that doesn't mean there are any decent players available ....and if there are...why would they come to a bottom club exactly. Then the pressure on one or two new lads to save us? We shall see but it still looks grim to me.observer wrote:With our history, we'll sign a couple all right... Once the tax bill is settled the embargo will be lifted. Hopefully we'll sign a couple on loan

He must see potential, so much he is willing to plough millions of his cash in.

As I see it [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] heading to court to seek adjournment for seven days. But that depends on a buyer - seemingly SS - being able to complete.

and another one from him, I also think his question a good one (but as a journo, be better if he knew the answer
Whole thing still moving, so will try to keep some sort of update. Still begs question: Why is cash from asset sales not being used to pay?

Eddie wakes up with the head of Garry Madine in his bed, may not be a horse but a Donkey will have to do in these cash strapped times.

Big day today, not that you'd think so from the BN's (lack of) coverage.....
Anybody else nervous?

As mentioned in "the thread that shall remain nameless" I have suspected there's a good chance we might be heading for admin since SS was made preferred bidder as they don't appear to have secured the requisite amount in investment to ensure that we are sustainable, let to have having development potential and a growth plan.Breadman wrote:Big day today, not that you'd think so from the BN's (lack of) coverage.....

Not saying it's going to happen necessarily, but the 12 point deduction news is good news if we go there. However, the mystery of the car park money remains as it could come down to the club or ED simply paying HMRC's bill.
Overall I suspect this is a game of negotiation brinksmanship and I kind of half expect ED to turn round at the last minute and say "Just kidding lads - here's your tax".
I just don't think there is a serious buyer so it's ED or admin.

If that rumour's true, then it's pretty straight forward.
SS pay the tax bill and we all go home.
There's a big part of me hoping that it's not true and we go into Administration today.
Take the points deduction, go down and start again on a scale far more befitting of the financial resources at our disposal - SS clearly don't have much, so being able to wipe the slate clean and cancel a lot of contracts would be a massive help.
That said though, if we do go into Administration, there are no guarantees that SS would take over and we'd probably wind up with the Truss sticking their noses in again.
Whatever happens today, we're still screwed because as I said a while ago, short of some Tamraz-type figure buying the club, there is no "good" outcome for us now because it's too late.
All this should have been settled 12 months ago.

We've been given an extension, or we want one.
but why? If the funds are in place and everythings approved why do we need one.

I hope that's a joke. There's more chance of Magoo becoming the next poet laureate than anything important happening today.

LofV now tweeting that the FL have definitely approved SS.
Not sure how I feel about that if I'm honest......

That they need to buy the club in instalments should probably be a worry but what do I know.
especially when the price is about 7 million.
