We'll likely end up a second and third tier yo-yo club. It could actually be quite exciting again.

I have resigned myself to relegation and the only light at the end of the tunnel is that there are quite a few local teams not far to travel to, a few new grounds to visit, and cheaper ticket prices, including my season ticket! ( I hope! Fingers crossed. )

According to today's BN, it's looking like Ken Anderson is the main money man behind SS's bid, which is expected to be formally announced by the club later today.
Former sports agent (boo!) Anderson is founder and CEO of Inner Circle, a company which networks within the sporting world to provide opportunities for clients to make a return on their investments.
A bit like Sports Shield then.
But with a proper website and (presumably) some cash.
Interestingly, they've woked in the past with Everton, as Kenwright sought a buyer for The Toffees:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
So maybe that's the plan then - Acquire the club on the cheap, strip it back to the bare bones, bobble along for a bit in Division 3 and then hopefully, once all the debt's gone and the club's not in immediate danger of folding, invite someone else to come in and take it on as a going concern.
So it looks as though they're not here to asset strip us and run off, but equally, I can't see them pumping much cash in.
It's going to be about rationalisation and building a secure platform which leads to sustainability and which will, hopefully, make the club an inviting proposition for someone else further down the line.
So it could be a good thing but it will be painful.

Bolton Wanderers takeover due to happen today
Dean Holdsworth’s Sports Shield consortium are poised to be announced as the new owners of Bolton Wanderers today.
The club will confirm it has been bought in joint venture between Sports Shield and the Inner Circle Investment Group, led by Former football agent Ken Anderson, worth an initial £7.5 million.
A new board will also be confirmed, in which Anderson and Holdsworth will take a leading role.
Outgoing owner Eddie Davies is expected to be named as club president following 13 years as the majority shareholder.
The success of the bid ends a long and agonising search for new ownership, which has pushed the club to the brink of administration.
After three stays of execution at the High Court in London, it is now believed that the outstanding tax and VAT bill owed to HMRC will be settled by the time of their next visit on March 21 – ending the risk of liquidation.
The Football League gave conditional approval to the takeover on Monday and will keep close tabs on Wanderers’ finances until the summer of 2018. They will also speak with the new owners over ending a transfer embargo that has been in place since the turn of the year.
Sports Shield changed the structure of their bid in recent weeks, giving a higher share allocation to Anderson’s Inner Circle group. Bruce Gordon, who had previously been a major investor in the bid, has stepped aside.

Banned for almost EIGHT YEARS as a company director!
But Anderson, a licensed football agent, was sidelined from that deal when it was revealed that in October 2005 he was banned from being a company director until 2013 for a number of offences

a bit of googling throws up a lot of big issues round Mr Anderson. Still, as Boggers said, the deal is done according to SSN. Makes you wonder how fit and proper you have to be...from recollection of going through the process, it wasn't particularly onerous

What have you got against Joop?
I used to wear it a lot in the early to mid 90's.
And I also had a suit from Matalan.
I now get my suits from M&S and wear Paul Smith aftershave from a green bottle.
Am I still a chav or have I sorted myself out?
Please advise.

I suspect Ken just told him.
And then threw him out of his office and made him brew up.

shouldn't it be the other way round? I would have thought it would be better to have Deano as Chairman as he's a familiar face
