Farron has said many times that he 'trusts the people'. if that is the case why has he allowed his party to attempt to negate the whole referendum result ?

I thought the libdems accept the result of the referendum?
But they want a vote on whether to accept whatever comes out of the Tory negotiations.
I guess that means if the tories negotiate a really crap deal for the uk they want the country to have the right to say we don't want it.
Which seems fair to me as we voted for something we have no details about.
Doesn't that seem fair to you glos?

No it doesn't. He is arguing, that if we don't accept any deal, then we stay in the EU. The Tories are saying that if the deal is bad enough, then we will strike out on our own.
Its a relatively well known fact that our influence in the EU was on the wane, being outvoted on nearly every open vote. We were accepted as some sort of cash cow, but had diminishing influence, especially when it was for something beneficial to us.
The guy is a tit.

So because 37% of the electorate voted for something the other 63% of the population can't question it?
For a party always banging on about the "will of the people" it seems odd that they are so keen to repeal the ban on fox hunting which is only supported by 11% of the electorate and opposed by 64% of the electorate. Still what do you expect from the people that promised that £350m a week would be spent on the NHS if we left the EU.

So the Tories seem to think that the best way to protect British business interests post-Brexit, is to jump in a time machine and go back 400 years.

Truly pathetic but typical of May's vision.

Yes-I trust her to do a better job than Corbyn.
