Thanks for your post on this subject.okocha wrote:I'm finding the whole thing fascinating....the mix of backgrounds especially. It's always great to see true love, even adoration, reflected in the couple's eyes, such an uplifting change from the ugliness of the current state of the world.
Meghan seems to be the exact opposite of KP's description, a genuine, articulate, loving, intelligent woman with a lot to offer. They each promote very worthy causes and should be congratulated for the way they conduct themselves.
These younger royal couples are making the monarchy more relevant and worthwhile. Their status allows them to be heard, so reaching a worldwide audience for their laudable values and actions in a way that the rest of us cannot. Such a wonderful contrast to the grotesque role-models leading the world's nations currently.
Listen to them without cynicism for their privileged positions. They are making a difference, not sitting back idly. They bring joy and hope, as Diana did.
Relish it!
So much sourness in most of the other comments. Very sad really. So little joy in their souls.

Plenty of joy in my soul. They're a freak show that's kept me entertained for years.

I have no problem with the two getting married, good luck to them. And if people want to rejoice in that then fair enough.
What I do object to is the massive amounts of money spent on one wedding. It's absolutely ridiculous. I should think the money spent on this would feed the homeless for the next 10 years. I read somewhere the fucking cake cost £50k! £50k on a cake!!! What's wrong with a Peppa Pig one from Asda for £6?
It really is shameful, people are starving around the world but it's ok to spend £50k on a fucking cake? Fuck off.

I'll only enjoy the final in Chelsea win. And I'm not wearing my slippers at the moment.Cajunboy wrote:Sorry you are the exception.boltonbonce wrote:Plenty of joy in my soul. They're a freak show that's kept me entertained for years.
Sitting there in your slippers and Corbyn mask.
Enjoy the Cup Final.
50k does seem a tad over the top for a cake. How the hell do they come up with a price like that. The ingredients can't come to more than thirty quid.

It's a very big cake .
A lot of it will be sent to the 53 Commonwealth countries too.
That's a lot of cake.
Asda only deliver locally.

Aren't Prince Andrews two daughters engaged ? I presume we'll have a replay of todays performance when they get hitched- perhaps on a lesser scale. They might get a Peppa Pig cake instead

The global significance of what took place in Windsor today cannot be measured in mere cash terms. Love, beauty, dignity and civilised values are to be treasured and aspired to on a personal and international level.

I'm sure if you were forced to use a food bank you might think otherwise.
What's civilised about spending millions on a wedding?

Look at the causes and charities that the newly-weds support for the ultra-valuable benefit of so many. They and many of the people they invited to their wedding are examples to us all, especially to world leaders whose job it should be to make everyone's existence better.
It is sad to see crass, ignorant, ugly responses.
What have you done to make your life and that of others worthwhile the same way these two role-models have?
