Burnley 2-0 Bolton

This just shows how shit we really are. No excuses saying it's only the first game of the season. We have been playing like this now for more than a year. Honestly, if SKD starts the next game I think Coyle needs to be sacked. Burnley, who have not beaten us for how many games are making us look like a sunday pub team. Embarrasing...

Hipster, if only four belong at this level then what the hell has Coyle been up to for the last few years ? Don't you think giving him ten games would be just pushing us down towards League 1 ? If we can't beat Burnley, or even turn up and give them a game, what chance against the better teams. Seriously, we could be looking at dropping down again.

Many people said pre season doesn't matter, but surely alarm bells must have been ringing when we couldn't beat some of the shite teams we played, but not only that, couldn't keep clean sheets ? Let's face it we are going nowhere under Coyle. It doesn't matter that we could turn it round, only the first game of the season, the fact is nothing has changed at all. We still can't defend.

My main gripe with Coyle has always been the football (style)

Credit burnley today they hassled and harried but our main tactic, was long ball, even when Davies went off.

Thats unacceptable for me, and the main culprits were Knight, and Mears who i thought was absolutely terrible.

Ream i think will adjust to the pace of this league, he's a cultured player. Andrews was poor today but i think he will improve.

I liked Eagles, Lee, Sordell and Afobe together but i think Wylde deserves game time. Petrov was poor.

We desperately need talent in the middle of the park who can put their foot on the ball, i can't believe we didn't go in for Adam Clayton who ran the show for huddersfield last night.

That was aweful to listen to, can't imagine it was much better to watch from a bolton point of view.

There is no plan B when plan A doesn't work and christ it didn't work today that's for sure. The Derby game is going to be very interesting indeed, wether the occasion of playing infront of a very hostile crowd got to some of the player I don't know but Derby are going to be up for this one now.

As for sacking coyle, if things go like they did today then I give hum 10 games maximum.

carry on like this for ten games and it's too late. No chance of promotion, more likely bottom half. The problem then is we will never get back up. "Big name" players like Holden, Lee, Mavies etc won't want to spend two seasons at this level, that's for sure. Plus, the novelty will wear off for the fans. Watch season ticket renewals drop by 5000 in that scenario.

Painful to watch. No tactics, no passing skills, absolutely no surprise. Same game plan regardless of team or league. He really is stuck in a rut, without a clue how to get out of it. I also wonder about his support team. Did none of them see this coming? Mavies was playing apparently. I think we should sell him, as he isn't going to contribute under the current regime. We didn't start playing until the 78th minute, and in all fairness we started to put a pass or two together, althought we still didn't have a shot on goal. This manager is clueless, and the sooner he is clubless, the better for us.

Once again Coyle ignores (or doesn't grasp) the importance of centre midfield. Mark Davies cannot play there, he is completely anonymous. Andrews (like NRC last year) ends up running all over the place trying to do the work of 2 men because Davies is no use. It's the most important area of the pitch and we are terrible there.

Coyle needs to wake up and stop playing 4-4-2 it hasn't worked since Holden's injury so why the fuck would it work now? Stick an extra man in there to take the responsibility off M.Davies then he can concentrate on what he does best.

Kevin Davies cannot start again, he's a legend and always will be, but he is past it. Completely immobile now and when he's on the pitch the defence just launch it, complete waste of time. Full backs were absolutely shit, gave the ball away countless times, I'd rather see Alonso and Wylde down the left hand side, give them a chance cant be worse than what I just witnessed and play Ricketts or Riley at right back.

We need to sign a decent defensive midfielder, and we need Holden back ASAP. Hoping today was a big wake up call and they turn up next game. Fail to win next game and Coyle's in serious trouble.
