Reform seems to be doing well in the polls and would be the natural home for the right wingers currently being purged - you should try it White.Whitesince63 wrote:Whether Truss goes or doesn’t and whether it shatters the Tory party or not I think our Labour friends shouldn’t just naturally assume all the disaffected will migrate to their party, despite the poll ratings. From where I stand Labour have produced nothing to indicate that they would handle the current problems any better than the Tory’s or even that what they would deliver is what the majority of the public want. I suspect that when a GE does come, it will be the minor parties who come out best. Just as with UKIP, I’d expect the likes of the Reform party and the Lib Dems to be the biggest winners as people abandon the two main parties. I certainly don’t think Labour should naturally assume that they are going to walk into the red wall seats because for once tactical voting may work the other way with both Labour and Tory losing out. Obviously Labour would win a majority but not the wipe out they consider it might be.

How many more complete Tory fuck ups do we have to endure before this lot concede that it's time to do the decent thing and go to the country.

I got bored with listening to my Dire Straits albums.
Much more entertaining to witness the dire straits the Tory party has got itself into.

Get set for yet another week of Tory infighting as MP's choose the next duffer.
Penny Mordaunt has just issued a message to Conservative MP's to "Keep calm and carry on."
Where's Kenneth Williams, Charles Hawtrey, Sid James & co. when you need them.

Hi did say you might get another vote Whites, but why ask 120,000 when Just 365 people pick our next leader.Whitesince63 wrote:BRING BACK BORIS 🥳
Truly is a farce, people should be out on the streets demanding a general election.
If your lot can't agree on a candidate you might just end up voting for christmas. Fingers crossed.

This really is amazing the Tory leadership contest lasted a week longer than the Truss administration. Comedy Gold.

Yeah, let's bring back Boris. He's just about at the level the once proud Conservative party has allowed itself to sink to since he was elected first time round.

So one week to come up with a candidate to unify the party.
The name currently doing the rounds and respected by all is Larry the Downing Street Cat.

Staggering that such a man should ever gain high office or be supported by any person or institution in the country.Hip Priest wrote:

An absolute travesty of a human being.
Anyone who has ever backed him or is thinking of doing so should hang their head in shame. Our media are massively to blame.

Reports suggest Boris Johnson could stand in Tory leadership contest
Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson - who left office just six weeks ago - could stand in the upcoming Conservative leadership contest to replace Liz Truss, according to reports.
Both the Times and the Daily Telegraph are reporting that Johnson - who was forced to resign as Conservative leader in July following a string of scandals - is preparing to run again for the top job.
Johnson believes it's a matter of "national interest", the Times reports.
The exact rules for the contest have not yet been revealed. Earlier, 1922 Committee chairman Sir Graham Brady suggested members - with whom Johnson remains highly popular - would be involved. But Brady also suggested it was possible Tory MPs might agree on a single candidate.
