Excellent news Brother Dar. My leaflet drop proved quite fruitful and I received a few enquiries from a number of local Bolton businessmen offering to sponsor you for one months labour. Your sponsor for July is Angus Pattie, the proprietor of the Pound Bakery on Newport Street. Born in Aberdeen of Patagonian parentage, Angus moved to Bolton at a young age and has worked in the baking industry throughout his adult life. In fact he is the third generation of Patagonian Patties in Bolton. As well as being a passionate Wanderer his other hobbies include playing the bagpipes for the Band of the Black Watch and train spotting. Angus asked me to tell you that if you are ever in Bolton you are welcome to visit his shop where you can help yourself to a selection of his pastries and sweetmeats. His Neeps and tatties pasties are very popular among the Jacobite locals and his Haggis boiled in Balsamic vinegar is  ideal cuisine for those who want something visual that's not too abysmal.

Mr Pattie is happy to sponsor you for four tantalising reports on the proviso that they are completed by the 24th July at the latest. Mr Pattie is going on a Haggis hunting holiday in Ecclefechan on the 25th July so please make sure you get your reports in before Hogmanay.

Report  1 (July)
Welcome back to the Bolton Nuts scouting page, today i’m bringing to you the july month report of footballing activities exactly as it happens here down in Nigeria, and this is presented to you by brother dare.  On my voyage this week, i was caught up by youths of the surulere stadium up in lagos who might have left their home to participate in the game for leisure, but on the pitch of play they were serious and fierce. Unlike other games I’ve watched, i didn’t even have to wait so long to have moments of excitement, as i spotted Chile and Uwkuekwu dazzling for the team in yellow. Chile played up front while Uwkueku was the one supporting him with a touch of smooth passes from the middle of the pitch. They ended up banging in 5 goals compared to the 3 their opposition scored.
Video Link: https://youtu.be/W8yLmB4pJ7s

Report  2
And so they call him Freddy, but i didn’t think twice before giving him my own nick name, exactly how he plays and reveals is lust for the round leather ball whenever he’s moving with it. I named him the black Iniesta. Catch a glimpse from the video itself, with freddy dressed in blue and with a glove on one of is hands. So much confident, so much accuracy plus he’s got the body. If the Nigerian national team coach had played the likes of this guy instead of John Obi Mikel, maybe we could have survived france and go ahead to destroy germany. But Where is the eye for the blind ones ?
Video link: https://youtu.be/mwFo6iYQ0To

Report  3

On this particular day, I hurried myself to the pitch again to go cast an eye on more youths playing football at the stadium. So i watched some for a while, I saw that mutiu animashaun who was very astonishing with his decisions and moves with the ball. He is a winger and a skilful one, I actually relish him playing on the full pitch to see how well he would combine his skills and make it count for his team.
Video Link:  https://youtu.be/sZM2n2AtfRM

Report 4
This one might be a little bit out of requirements, they are Igbo boys from a particular tribe in the country, probably training to trim off their excess fat. They were all dressed in a Madrid jersey and forcing emselves to play some exciting football, at the end it was all interesting as it was Ogwuechi who put up the best performance and scored a goal with a well executed finish. They all look alike in the video, but you can spot the best performer which is Oguwechi.
Video Link:  https://youtu.be/fQ-ENsqcMAI

Report  5
Another day on my scouting hustle, match was on the role today, the street footballers, preparing to play the eachother. They had to do a brief fitness training and then go ahead to play a 5 aside game to test their skills. It was a good training session with akinfala who seemed to be the best of the crop of boys. An utility player, strong and a threat when used as a midfielder and holding the ball in other to declare what happens next.. He showed with his moves that football is not all about energy burning, but technical skills and ability to reason along with your team-mates. He was most times on point with his moves

Excellent reports as always Brother Dar. I have fired off a missive to BWFC HQ on Manny Road to give them the latest breakdown on your concise but comprehensive reports.

While browsing in Carpetright in Bolton,  I bumped into Hans Blix who was buying some Persian Rugs as a house warming present for Sheikh Yabooty who has just purchased the Jamea al Kauthar rucksack factory in Lancaster. Knowing my passion for interior design and Feng Shui , Hans asked me if I would be prepared to assist with the soft furnishings in the Shebeen adjacent to the factory. I readily agreed on the proviso that the Sheikh would sponsor Brother Dar for four tantalising reports. This was agreed and I have been given a short term contract until the 31st August to get things ship shape and Bristol fashion before the Sheikh moves in to his new abode on the 1st September.

There will therefore be a slight hiatus on the scouting front for August to allow Brother Dar to recharge his batteries with a well earned holiday.

Normal transmission will resume in September when the good Sheikh provides the shekels for Dar's reports. Dib Dib.

Relax Brother Dar.. I took the liberty of phoning the Land Registry office in Cleckheaton where I spoke to a Mr Frank Zappa who confirmed that Sheikh Yabooty does in fact have title to the deeds at the rucksack factory in Lancaster. What a relief that was!

I then telephoned the Isis information centre in Bloxwich and they confirmed that they have no record of a Sheikh Yertush on their international database and it is highly likely that he could be a scammer.

Excellent news Brother Dar. I was beginning to think you had been afflicted with that pesky Ebola bug that is doing the rounds in your neck of the jungle. Either that or you had been kidnapped by Procol Harum.

The Sheikh is ready and waiting for your tantalising reports.

eptember Report
Report 1
All thanks to god for aiding in the control of the Ebola outbreak, its been weeks now and we’ve heard no news of an additional infection. So back to the arena where boys do their dealings on soccer, everything seems fine, people were ready to play again as the risk of conacting ebola has reduced.
Today i was privileged of being entertained by some street boys from surulere lagos, they all were gathered there from different corners of the streets and selected themselves at random to play and enjoy the beautiful game of soccer. After watching the boys for over 30mins of play, i noticed Baruwa folorunsho (kitted in orange) who operated more like a defensive midfielder. The strength and stability he possessed makes him a preferable candidate for his team.
Video: https://youtu.be/CLjXaGOpOC4

Report 2
Today’s outing was to see two teams play together, the two representing different street. This was a friendly match and the boys who featured here certainly didn’t see it like that, they played in the best way they could from start to finish. It looked more like a competitive match and it took time before some others could believe it was just an exhibition. The top performer was marvis ajetumobi, a very skilful offensive footballer, not really a point man but he needs not be thought when to release a killer pass to his teammates to silent their opponents with a goal. Threats threats threats was everything they see whenever he moves ahead with the ball.
Video: https://youtu.be/DDNWiAZHJp0

Report 3
A fantastic set of footballers here displaying awesome skills with the soccer ball, it was a five aside game organised by a football academy coach. I don’t know where this boys were selected from, but from both sides, they played exciting football and i was so carried away with what i was watching that i almost forgot to take a video clip of them playing. It should also be mentioned that the poaching of this boys might be a little difficult as they are already under a team, and the academy might have it’s plans for them.
Video: https://youtu.be/HvSD54ZKcN4

Report 4
Got to the stadium today,(Sunday) but the turn out for footballers was pretty poor probably due to the fact that most og the guys had gone to their various places of worship, eventually I saw some boys playing together, i wasn’t too impressed with the way they were playing, and went ahead to stay and later after the influx of new set of boys, i saw some sharp ballers. Babatunde tijani played well today and impressed everyone around there at that particular moment. More of a winger, kitted in yellow, his movement was perfect and showed enough skills when he needs to. He is a quick footballer and easily picks out his man.
Video: https://youtu.be/0GdhEXHnuQ0

Report 5
Check out this guy in a black and white sleeves kit (England jersey), you might have to watch this twice has his ways at the back is just what you would expect of a centre half . Dapo Alabi, Impressive display here, tall, strong and makes perfect tackles whenever he’s being challenged. He is just all you have to watch in this game, a perfect defender. I wish to see him play here again in future and if possible get him convinced for the sake of Bolton.
Video: https://youtu.be/YHnuF7PQHaw

Report 6

On another Saturday morning, off to watch the exciting sport named soccer, It was another interesting occasion for me. I didn’t get there early, but when i did, I sat gently and watched the boys play for a while, and after watching different sets replace each other, I found Ramon Dudu who played in fron for his team, his opposition trembles whenever he’s advancing, he was also very quick and skilful with the ball. He scored twice for his team.

I have just returned from a meeting with Mr Chalfont St Giles who has agreed to sponsor our Nigerian Scout for four tantalising reports. Mr St Giles is a popular choice having been born in Ventersdorp, near Westhoughton and having been a Wanderer all his life. Mr St Giles still works for Bolton Council where he is employed as Head of Diversity and Race Relations. As well as chairing the bi-monthly Community Harmony programme for the betterment of Somalian residents in Astley Bridge, he also works 2 hours a month at the Citizens Advice Bureau in Daisy Hill.
Having followed Wanderers since he first visited Burnden Park in 1966 he is also the President of the AWB ( Atherton Whites Branch ) which he founded with Alf Hart in 1977.

As requested, my next report would be a single outing, and it was in a totally different place in Nigeria, the easthern part of the country to be precise. I was posted there to serve my country while going through a paramilitary training. I went out to a school while in my place of assignment and saw some couple of kids playing soccer. it was wonderful, having in mind that the like of Jay Okocha rose from this region, and seeing the boys play together here. after a very long time watching for both my pleasure and scouting purposes, I saw Obidike Unmaru, a very bright midfielder. He was a constant spark while playing for his team, and also gave 2 assist as they won with a 3goals margin.

Expect wages asap and I'm working on a sponsor as I pen this reply. Dib Dib.

Good news on the sponsorship front. I have managed to secure a sponsor for December who is prepared to shell out for five tantalising reports. Step forward Tony Martin, mine host at the Travellers Rest in Emneth Hungate near Bolton. A lifetime Wanderer, Tony's hobbies include DIY, Home Improvements and shooting. As well as being an excellent host, Tony is also a talented crooner and his album, A Legendary Night, reached Number 1 in the Romany Pop Charts in 1999.
Tony has asked me to mention that a warm welcome is always a given for any travellers wishing to avail themselves of his hospitality. If anyone is planning to pay him a visit over Xmas then please book early as there are only limited number of nights available in the Fearon Suite. The Christmas Day menu consists of roast hedgehog for starters followed by Scarborough pheasant with all the trimmings and the pudding is Manchester tart. Make sure you mention BoltonNuts when you make your booking.

December

 Report 1

After spending over four months in the state of Anambra, I was finally afforded the liberty of living the place for the sake of vacation, and right on the verge of making a move away from there, I thought to myself that going back to my old school in order to complete my scouting report for the year 2014 wouldn’t such a bad idea. That was how I made the dash back to Ibadan and invaded the school’s sporting complex to scout for starlets.

On reaching the complex in my first day, I found out since I’ve left the school, a lot of things have changed and I didn’t have the kinda connection i use to have before. The boys were new and just few could relate to whatever i try to explain to them, later I sat myself down and watched a particular group of boys play a 5 aside soccer set. I noticed this guy Saani, who was playing so well in the position of a midfielder and was very accurate with his passes and made so much contribution for his teammates.

Video: https://youtu.be/2Q5YBnN4pi4

Report 2

Today’s match was between two departments in the school, in a competition that must have been going on for a while now. It wasn’t easy for me catching up with the proceedings of the competition, as I don’t reside within the school premises anymore. But today was kinda fun, a match between psychology and botany students. The Botany boys were victorious with 4goals to 2. One player who was particularly outstanding was Daniel Useni, who served his team as a topstriker upfront, he got two goals and was just unlucky not to get the 3rd. His shots were always a threat to the Goalstopper as most of them were on target.

Video:  https://youtu.be/ehlrpFnoeyA

Report 3

I was fortunate to be available at one of the matches played in the quarterfinals of the inter Department football competition, and paid required attention to the footballers involved. This time, it was philosophy vs English, and it was a very competitive match that had both teams dragged to settle things at the penalty kick stage. I found two good players, one from both teams. The first was Buhari who was defending for philosophy, he intercepted do many dangerous passes and also helped in clearing out the ball whenever safety is an issue for his team. The second actually is a namesake, he’s also called “Dare”, He is a goal keeper and was the main man in helping his team win the penalty kick off, he saved 4 times.

Video: https://youtu.be/lVfVyvqswIQ

Report 4

Another qFinal match was that between the department of economics and Computer Science, It was already started before I got there, and after watching for a while, the first half ended, and I started inquiring from people about the match. As at this time, the scoreline was 1-1, Economics just pulling one back through a guy named Adeshina, and they conceded one  from a penalty awarded with the suspicion of ‘hand ball’. I watched and paid attention to the movements of the goal scorer in the second half, he was almost right with everything and appeared to be the wish of every midfielder. He knows what to do with the ball whenever he gets it. He later aided his team with 2 more assists, which helped them win the match on full time as 3-2.

Report 5
To round up the reports for the year 2014, after a very long day at my place of residence, I decided to go out to the Schools playground and see what the boys were up to. Got there and didn’t waste much time before I saw some young lads playing a five aside football at the complex. I made myself comfortable and sat down perfectly to watch them play, and after some time, I noticed Ogundipo who was very familiar because I had once spoken to him before on this scouting issue when i was back in school then. He played so well while he was with the ball, and operating as a striker, he showed he does not fear any defender .

Video: https://youtu.be/hkTW_-wAE0g

To all........................ Merry Xmas and Happy New Year

Thanks for your cooperation, collaboration and support all through the year!

Greetings and salutations Brother Dar. I have spoken this morning with the PA of the Agent, Miss Penny Monet who informs me that the agent has gone on holiday over Xmas to stay with his dear friend, Jackie Paper, who runs the reptile sanctuary at Honalee. The Cornish peninsula is notorious for having limited mobile phone signals and as such it may be difficult to contact the agent before he travels down to Tiddy Oggy in Somerset to see in the New Year. As soon as I get confirmation that your wages have been deposited I will be in touch.
In the meantime, if you want to make a few extra bob to tide you over for Xmas then keep your eyes peeled for this geezer when you are out and about doing your scouting duties. Just be careful and have your wits about you if you do come across him. It might be better to notify the authorities rather than tackle him yourself.  Dib Dib
