Good news on the Sponsorship front. I have managed to secure a sponsor for February in the shape of local Bolton Businessman Isaac Hunt. Born into a family of clowns, entertainers and performers Isaac and his twin brother Mike were ordained in the Magic Circle in 2007. Isaac is currently the owner and Manager of the Octagon Theatre in Bolton where he occasionally performs with his backing group, Mr Creosote and the Boneshakers. Isaac has offered to pay for 4 reports for the month of February.

Well, well, well...I had wondered what had happened to our Nigerian scout but an e-mail from an African doctor has shed some light on developments.

From: Doctor  Luther Fakawi
To: Rodney Trotter
Date: Fri 22nd May 2015
Subject: MEDICAL DOCTOR FROM GHANA .....quick response needed.....

Dear Rodney Trotter,

My name are Dr Luther Fakawi, a medical Doctor. and
the sole proprietor of the above specialist
Hospital.(SAHARA CLINIC & MATTERNITY)
I understand that through Internet is not the best way
to link up with you because of the confidentiality
which the transaction demands.

However, I have already sent you this same letter by
post one month ago, but I am not sure if it did get to
you since I have not heard from you, hence my
resending it again.I have a Nigeriam man called Darequam here in my Clinic
who is on a political Asylum in ACCRA GHANA WEST
AFRICAN Refugee Camp,He has been so ill for
somecouple of months now.

This man confided in me based on the free medical
attention I have been giving
him. He revealed to me of his
lifehistory and about being an official scout for Bolton wanderers.. He has asked me to source a credible and
trustworthy partner abroad who will pay for his medical tratement hich currently amounts to the sum of $40 Million
us dollers.
I please you in the Name of ALLAH
,for you to represnt the medical treatment of Brother Darequam TO ME
I believe you
will be in the position to assist in managing this
large sum and also to help
create a safe heaven for him and other refugess fleeing from Procol Harum and by
making a residence arrangement for them in your
country. After he had disclosed this information to
me, I saw the reason to request from you this deposit.
I am obliged to assist Darequam  knowing too
well that he has a limited knowledge in the medical business
world and as such he can not manage without continued treatment  in
Africa.  inorder to avoid any trace of him by Procol Harum , I will need from you a mutural
understanding and then we shall make plans on how the
funds would be secured into my account in his
name, after which you will arrange and travel
immediately to meet with the medical deplomat for
clearing.
even as I am
writing you now the situation regarding his healyth remains critical.

Thanks and God bless for your understanding,

Best regards,
Dr. Luther Fawaki .

I have been troubled recently after the death of a dear friend of mine, Minnie Mowse. She was a very, very dear friend indeed, and her death affected me greatly and started to make me question my faith. I have decided to leave the church and join a travelling circus.

I have already made two very good friends, and tomorrow I will be starting my circus training with them... Nigerian Scouting thread. - Page 37 99a

The good Doctors surname brings back memories. The Fakawi tribe of Central Africa are also known as the ' Lost Tribe '. Rumoured to be the smallest tribe in Africa the average height of adult males ranges between 4ft 6 and 5ft.  For many years they were considered warlike and truculent by other tribes because of their behaviour. The distinguished explorer and traveller Rupert Blashford-Snell wrote in his diaries that they ' Had a nasty habit of jumping up and down in the long grass shouting  ' We're the Fakawi!" And it was very disconcerting seeing their heads bobbing up and down in the long grass.

( Years later it was discovered that they were actually a very peaceful tribe who quite often used to get lost as they travelled through the long grass.)

It's been over twelve months since we heard from our Nigerian Scout. He was actually a 29 yr old mature student studying for an agricultural degree at Ibadan University. Back then, the Goodluck Sambo leadership allowed students to defer their national service until they graduated but since the latest elections and new government were elected he had to answer the call of the nation.
The last PM I received from him was to inform me that he was being drafted to the north of the country to do his civic duty protecting oil refineries and looking out for that pesky Procol Harum crew who have a penchant for Christian schoolies.
Sad really, because I had a few more sponsors lined up but I can only summise that he fell into enemy hands and was probably ' turned.' I imagine he is probably sat round a campfire with the rest of the PH crew listening to a Whiter Shade of Pale while chewing on a roasted warthog.

Ah well..... it was fun while it lasted but he never did discover the next Jay Jay, mores the pity.

Hnnnmmm!

Its not Procol Harum, Its actually BOKO HARAM, and as a matter of fact, the government of the current President 'Mohamed Buhari' have a lot more than the previous government did in tackling Boko haram. Also, I never had my Service anywhere in the North, it was done in the eastern part of the country, and I'm done and back in my home side in lagos.

Already finished with school, now am looking for greener pastures career wise.

I'm so happy to see everyone is doing fine here, I miss you all. As for Bolton, Its painful all we've been through in the past 3years, but like a true trotter, I see it in us to get back to shape any time soon. sometimes, all you need do to be successful is go back to the drawing board and re-strategize.
I welcome the newly appointed coach with all my heart and I wish him the very best in all his stay.

hoo laa laa !!

Wel...well...well.. this is a turn up for the books. l was afraid  you had been kidnapped by that pesky Procol Harum crew whilst carrying out your civic duty in the north of your country.

It's good to know you are safe and well Darequam. I will be sending telegrams to your previous sponsors to let them all know the good news.

Stay safe and prosper.  Very Happy
