Guess what, he is a "christian minister"

'We believe that God has a plan for our lives within the context of marriage, the scripture is quite clear in its teaching on this,'

bigoted tosser.

You wouldn't have any respect for someone who was a homophobe.

put christian in the sentence and it commands respect.

No, the society we live in likes to blame religion for everything.

Of course there are some arseholes that attach themselves to religion, but on the whole religious people are better than everyone else.

Religion is worthy of a good debate.

but not when one party is just trolling.

You know I'm not trolling, I've never made any secret of my Christian beliefs.

Renting my property to homosexuals wouldn't bother me, but then I've always been a nice person like that. Religion just slows the world down in this respect. The bible was written at a time when the vast majority of what is now reality wasn't discovered and/or understood, so it's a pretty useless teaching. Moreover, God doesn't exist.

You have, up until there was a big debate on BA on which the majority where strongly falling on one side.

you appeared and took the other.

Inasmuch as the ladies in question have the right to munch rugs to their hearts content, I believe the landlord has the right to refuse to allow them to rug-munch on his property. Why is that a problem?

And you'd feel the same way if i denied a black man/woman entry to my establishment, lets say it's a pub.

You've got the right to be black, just as much as i have the right to deny you entry to my establishment because you are.

of course, I'm not racist, because this is part of my religion see.

You fecking bellend. The bible is more relevant now than it's ever been. When was the last time you went to church?

The bible is a brilliant book. True, the people who wrote it lived in a different time, but some of the foresight is astonishing. If you can't see how the story of the David & Goliath is relevant today you really need to go back to school.

You're just religion bashing because it's cool right now. And calling me a troll is an easy way to avoid a debate.

But seriously, surely you can see how a David v Goliath story is still relevant today? And the loaves and the fishes? And Samson? And King Herod? The list is endless.

Will 50 Shades Of Grey still be relevant in 2000 years?

It may be relevant as a work of fiction, or as a way of teaching children some basic morals.

But as a basis to live your whole life, it's irrelevant.

Will any piece of trashy erotic fiction be relavent ever?

There are thousands and thousands of works of fiction that will be relavent forever, same with art, film, photography, music, theatre.

I'm not discounting the poetic importance of the bible, I'm saying it shouldn't hold an unnecessary privilege in the public sphere, and certainly not stand as an excuse for people to practice all sorts of criminal and devient behaviour.

It's not the bibles fault that people commit crimes in its name.
