The landlord of Pomps was called Geoff, it was a great little pub.

Something is ringing a bell about a lamb pub on halliwell road, is it still there or was it the one where there used to be public toilets next door or an old bus stop or something?

 The Lamb is till there but its got a new name which i can't remember. My early years were spent on Weymouth St which the Lamb pub was on the corner of.

my Dad used to drink in the New Inn when the wrestler Colin Joynson was the landlord, i remember walking past one day and saw a bloke still on his stool thrown onto Halliwell Road by Colin!

RT, never been in pomps, I think I went in the VBQ once but that was a few years ago.

There used to be a pub on the same side as VBQ a little further out of town near to kirks bakers?

I just tend to find loads things of interest to me.

I've always tended to read a lot and generally more factual stuff rather than fiction.

I used to have a faily good memory too and that helped me to see the bigger picture, the context of things, rather than stuff just in islolation to each other. These days I barely can remember my own name!

Even now though I rather spend an hour or so looking up some obscure fact or other on the internet rather than sit and watch Corrie, East Enders, Emmerdale, etc, with the wife and daughter.

I don't claim to be an expert on anything - I'm not - but if I'm going to waste my life away then I prefer to do it myself on finding stuff out on various things I find of interest rather than to be sat there being told the latest goings on about Bet Lynch, Dot Cotton or poor old Amos, etc!

The landlord of the Lamb was an angry little bastard called Terry when I used to drink in there.

He hated us and we hated him and his shit beer.

But it was full of dirty little tarts on a Sunday night, so we used to put up with it.

That's why I'm on here now, Sluff.

The Boss is getting her nightly dose of Hollyoaks and Emmerdale and it makes my ears bleed, hence, here I am.......

i remember the 2 victoria british queen pubs, i also used to go in the Pineapple and the one across the road from it but can't remember its name either and also the Bay Mare

Always were a shit hole I went in and a pub were everyone from oldhams estate congregated.

It's supposed to be being turned into a small bar and around 6 apartments but I saw a banner over the place this morning advertising a new pub and restaurant that was opening there soon.

When I was 15 or so I used to get the bus to Burnden, watch the players train, steal things from Bruce Rioch's office and then have a vodka and coke in The Trotter. Everyone was a pub weirdo in there.
