I don't see Pep on there, or Jose, or even Manuel. Why not? Don't those fools want to work for a REALLY big club?Culcheth_White wrote:If Dougie were to go? Well, Bet Victor have Chris Coleman down as 6/4 favourite for the job.

Get who you like. As long as Gartside is in position we've got problems.

Lee,Megson,Coyle,Freedman,Wonga. When Freedman goes, which he will,Gartside will once again peruse the list of deadbeats he keeps in his desk and come up with another Phil 'special.' Probably Ken Dodd for his financial acumen. The only feather in his cap is that he appointed BSA. He's like a one armed trapeze artist with an itchy arse. He's gotta fall.

I think that now with our huge debt, I feel that we can't perhaps afford someone who has been around for a while and got lots of experience.

He's also overseen one of the most successful periods of our history.
I think people dislike Gartside because he's the only 'public' figure from the board. Granted he's made a couple of poor managerial appointments, but I don't think he's a hugely negative influence on the club as a lot to seem to believe.

Do you think it would make a difference if Gartside got the chop and someone else was brought in?bwfc1874 wrote:He's also overseen one of the most successful periods of our history.

The thing is that someone has to be blamed for the amount of debt we are in and it is pointing towards him.
I'm going off topic here somewhat.

Well that's my point really Karly, I don't think it would make any difference at all if Gartside was to go and somebody else come in.
I see your point about the debt, but if we needed an inbviously Eddies level of interest is sky high and it's looking increasingly like he's just found a good place to invest his money. Obviously Eddie's interest is sky high and it looks like he's found a great place for him to invest his money (shame for us). But I don't know enough about the deal to blame Gartside entirely for the debt.

I bet Tony Pulis would take the job, highly unlikely appointment by Gartside, but he would take it, imo.karlypants wrote:I'm speechless after reading thatboltonbonce wrote:Lee,Megson,Coyle,Freedman,Wonga. I'd be absolutely gutted if we appointed Pulis.
People think Dougie's negative, wait till they see Tony in action.

I was just answering Karlypants post, Pulis wouldn't be the most popular choice, but I stand by my judgement, that he would take the Bolton job, If he was offered it.

Had a peek through Garty's window once. He was sat on the TV watching the couch. Idiot.

Pulis spent millions at Stoke. It's easy to look at what he did there and think, OK he did what was required of him, he must be a safe pair of hands. He only achieved what a lot of other managers could too, given those resources.
People do the same with Megson. Oh the football wasn't pretty, but at least he kept us up. So he fucking should. He spent millions.
Pulis is just one of those managers. Give him £40m to spend, he'll get you £10m worth of players. Can you think of one Stoke player from the last decade that's been sold for a decent profit?
He's basically EVERYTHING we don't need right now.

Agreed, it's bizarre the amount of people who say he did a great job on limited resources. They had something like the 3rd or 5th highest net spend in England since '05. Wasted a ton of money and succeeded in making Stoke 'hard to beat'.doffcocker wrote:Pulis spent millions at Stoke.
