Tinned Toms - You know it makes sense!

I don't really follow cricket. Are England actually good these days or are Australia really really shit?

I'm betting on Australia being embarrassingly under par.

Bit of both, to be honest.

England are on the up and the Aussies are nosediving.

23-5 now.

It's a procession...... Very Happy

Ponting on comms (as Finn is motoring in to bowl):

"Let's hope the Aussies can consolidate and try and put a partnership together."

Crash!

Off stump goes flying and they're now 33-7.

Cheers Punter. Very Happy

The question is, will they reappear after it or will they just get on the bus and disappear in shame?

did you see that catch? This is England at its best, no flukey wickets, Aussies have been mullered. Now that isnt the prompt for a 100 last wicket partnership and England bowled out for 37...

This is what the Windies used to do to us when I was a kid.

And I'm loving it!

And yes, that catch was incredible.

Yeah, Anderson's failed a fitness test.

We may struggle without him.

Amazing performance. Everything has gone England's way TBF but we've played well enough to create the chances in the first place.
Broad's figures have to be some kind of record.
What's needed now is a steady batting performance - no heroics, just bat for a couple of days.
If England go cheaply it will devalue a superb bowling performance.

agree with you wanders, and they are doing well. reckon 500 all out close of play tomorrow, and skittle them out cheaply day after, England win by an innings on third day, how does that sound?

What should be England's declaration score? I reckon get a 300 and odd lead then declare.

depends how fast they get there! weather looks fine so no probs about rain delays (cross fingers) I'd bat till tea tomorrow, and hope to be pushing 400 ahead by then.

Good century from Root although Bairstow has had a couple of lucky breaks and I swear he was nowhere near it when he was given that four for his 50.
But..
England are batting in much better conditions than the Aussies had so I expect them to do much better in the second innings. Therefore a big lead would be insurance.
A draw would guarantee retaining the Ashes, but surely we have to thump them from this position?

We should've declared at Tea and won the match inside a day.

Wonder if that's ever been done.......
