Fantastic win. Can't beat stuffing the Aussies. I'm such a negative and pessimistic wuss though when it comes to playing them that even at 153-7 I was still shitting myself and expecting us to lose when Johnson and Starc started clubbing a few boundaries.

Do you like this new brand of attacking cricket which we are developing Hip Priest?
About time if you ask me.
Other cricket news.....
It's Nelson v Burnley in the Lancs League Worsley Cup Final. We're the underdogs but we beat them at Turf Moor the last time we were in the final together and this time we are at home.
N-E-L-S-O-N.......... NELSON BOYS ARE HERE AGAIN...... NA NA NA NA NAH!

Totally agree with you CD. If you want to beat the Aussies you have to go toe to toe with them. TBH I was really dreading the return of Cook after the euphoria of the ODI's against NZ and the (admittedly long overdue) exhilarating new approach, but fair play to him he captained the side brilliantly.

No Haddin tomorrow - Obviously there's something going on with his daughter that takes precedence over a game of cricket.
It's only a job, so he's right to go home - obviously.
Good luck to him and his family.
As for England, Moeen's out so Adil from Yokshur's in.
Straight one-for-one on the face of it - they both bat well (although Rashid does it further down the order than Ali does for Worcs) but Rashid has the better wicket taking average recently and all the indications are that the Lords pitch will take spin after Day Three.
And they've allegedly dropped Watson.
Shame that. Given that he can no longer either bowl or bat for toffee.
Should be interesting.
Game on.

I hope we bat first. Build up a nice lead and put the Aussies on the back foot. As a footnote, Lancs lost their Twenty Twenty game last night on the very last ball. Lancs were two runs ahead and got hit for a four.

They'll have a job, seeing as they're already 91-1 with half an hour still to go 'til Lunch.

So they went from 68-0 to 91-1 in 4 minutes, who says cricket is boring.Breadman wrote:Norpig wrote:The Aussies won the toss and are batting and going well i'm afraid, 68-0 at Lunch

I watched every single ball and it was bloody hard going.
I'm actually glad I'm back in work tomorrow.
