Just out of the transfer window, still hopefully there'll be cash for loans, we are staying up!
Very impressed by Amoebi's goal today... if we can afford a pay to play I would keep him. Some great ability shown... wish he would have offered that earlier.  But a goal when he started and another when he left.  Hopefully the start of the great escape.

I still think a deal to sell will be done but I'd be surprised if the buyers had any more money to spend on players.

I think we have a hard stop of Feb's court case for a deal to be done. I can't see another extension forthcoming. Buying a club unburdened with imminent debt, as I believe was the point of the car park sale, has to be easier to conclude you'd hope. I don't know if/when a deal will be done, it is unknowable by anyone not close to the offers and negotiations, but think it has to be in next 3 weeks, or not at all.

its getting bloody silly now. What possible information is still needed to finalise the purchase ?

Probably what price the sucker who's buying into the club will be parting with.

Bolton. Couple of prospective buyers trying to figure out why still need a further 8m to take over for season ... is that to pay bank debt?

The longer any buyer stays interested the more little debts seem to come crawling out. Shit show.

it will be some back door deal to ensure Saint Eddie comes away with something for his retirement

There's still a massive part of me that thinks they're (the club) stalling for time until the ST's properly up and running.

According to unsubstantiated comments on the BN site, members of the (as yet to be ratified and by extension still not in a position to act or speak for the fans) ST were locked away in a box at the stadium on Saturday greasing palms and doing deals.

And that's why I still don't trust any of it.

Something's very wrong with the big rush to get it set up and I still have my suspicions that somebody within the club is pulling the strings and the whole thing is a front for something larger.

Put it this way, despite what Crispy and the other knobs have said, I wouldn't be too surprised if the three we know about wind up involved leading some bid to buy the club or take on a hefty shareholding in the next two weeks, having sourced the funding from mystery, unnamed "local businesses".

I smell a ra.....sorry, Mand - you get my drift.

But what would the benefit be for the club of conspiring to sell to the ST mate?

Can't work it out but there must be an angle.

I theorised the other day about the ST securing a decent shareholding (49%?), funded by "local" business on the understanding that they open up a steady stream of funding into the club to cover day-to-day running costs.

ED retains ownership of the club and what's left of the assets but shunts the costs onto some other mugs.

Purely speculation and most probably utter tripe but I can't shake this feeling I've had from day one about the ST that it's all been rushed through at 100 mph and somebody within the club is behind it.

The car park sale will deal with immediate bills, but there will be another wage bill, VAT bill, HMRC bill etc next month or quarter so the only thing that is needed is a viable and sustainable business plan with sufficient seed capital to get it off the ground.
Clearly one hasn't been put forward yet so perhaps a few prayers are in order. In fact we should just pray anyway to hedge our bets.

What do us atheists do?

Invoke the Spirit of Dawkins?

(Although I can see the inherent problem with that because as he's dead, that's it - game over, no afterlife. So it's probably not a very good suggestion.)

Meditate quietly in the corner whilst the Creator/creative force recycles Dawkin's particles.
Perhaps the Creator might create a striker for us, but if we are tied to human scientific  perception I suspect he won't be ready for a while.

If we had any proper religious nutters (in the literal sense) on here, rather than just Whittam's mock "Offended Daily Mail Reader" type, they would no doubt have interpreted that slip up as God putting the wrong name in my head to make me look like a dick for doubting His existence.

And they would take that as concrete proof he exists.

Whereas us normal people would understand that it was a simple mistake brought about by a combination of my rushing and getting on a bit now.

How did we get on this.....?

Bloody Hell!

That's why I don't believe in you - You're a Bolton fan and yet you're still putting us through all this shit!

(Whispers - Call an ambulance quick. Pete's been on the pills again and he thinks he's God. I'll keep him talking 'til they turn up.)

So then, God.......er......any chance of magicking up a foreign billionaire to save us?
