I'd already pointed this out in post 842
So I realised after posting. Sorry if you're miffed.
Perhaps subconsciously I was thinking that as that is/was the Governments back up plan it probably deserved to be posted twice.

Strange.

Yes can’t believe they’d back a plan that’s mutually beneficial. How exactly is May’s shit show a better option?

Labours plan is to stay in the EU under the guise of "leaving" as to not alienate their working class voters (the few they have left) in the north and Wales.

I have no problem with them backing a plan to stay my problem is them lying about the true nature of their plan.

For God sake can they not just come out and say it.

I will say it again. We are not staying in the EU if we lose our right to be classed as EU Citizens. If you remove Freedom of Movement you are not in the EU. That is one of the key requirements for being a member of the EU. Whatever you want to call what Labour want, it is not being in the EU.

Yes labour want an end to free movement but starmer has said they will then back "easy movement".

For Christ sake how thick do they think we are.

Calling things different names while they have the same effect is not a change.

Good. The UK needs immigration. Theresa May chose to ignore around 10 surveys that proved EU immigrants coming to the UK did not "take" jobs from British Citizens. However, unless I can live and work in the other 27 EU Countries without having to jump through hoops, we are not in the EU.

Why wouldn't the EU reciprocate what we offer. Obviously they will.
Because the reality of what the UK are doing is stopping Freedom of Movement. the goal posts have been changed also with regards to how much money you have to earn to be able to come in from the EU. Even people already in the UK are having problems getting settled status at the moment. When the minimum wage that is accepted is more than nurses earn you can see that many jobs won't be acceptable as far as the UK Government is concerned, yet here in Germany there is no restriction regarding a minimu wage. There is no way that the EU will let the UK pick and chose who it accepts and then just let any old Brit do what they want. I agree with T.R.O.Y on this. theresa May is a xenophobe. She proved that when she was the Home Secretary. It is the red line that she won't move on despite the fact that she is removing the rights of Freedom of Movement for every single UK Citizen whether they like it or not. In my opinion it's criminal.

What has any of that got to do with the labour party position which is under discussion.

Labour ARE offering free movement

Both parties should be making the case for freedom of movement, it’s an undeniably good thing for this country. Labour have been too quiet in defending it.

The Conservatives are also pro-immigration, pro EU etc if you look back at the manifestos over the years - and the pro-EU statements of every Tory Prime Minister since Churchill. This amusing little video shows that everything about the EU that was objected to in the Leave campaign were measures that the UK had asked for and pushed through in the first place....

He is the only one stopping labour campaigning to basically cancel brexit.

If you can't see that at this point I don't know what to say.

More footage was released of him yesterday ranting about "defeating Europe"

O Brien is a smug cunt.

I don't know what he said but if a vote is not the will of the people then what's the point of having any type of elections at all.

Just have a socialist dictator. There's a country that labour front benchers fantasise about emulating called Venezuela. That might be a good thing to copy.

He is called smug by idiots who don't like it when he asks them questions they can't answer because they are wrong - predominantly Leave voters. If Leave voters had any answers he would STFU but the reality is that Leave voters have no answers. Nothing. Nada.

Your second point is valid - there is no point in having a vote like the EU referendum because the only point of a vote is if people are voting for the same thing. which they weren't.

For example Leave voters were split between those who voted for Brexit on the basis of the promise that we would get a Norway/Switzerland type deal and those who voted to leave the customs union so if half of Brexiteers voted Leave to stay in the customs union and half of Brexiteers voted to Leave the customs union, which people is it supposed to be the will of?

Simply not true, reports only the other week of Labour MPs from leave constituencies threatening to resign if labour backed a people’s vote.

As I’ve said before you don’t get into power by ignoring half the population.

Actually you do get into power by ignoring half the population. When was the last time a party won an election with more than 50% of the votes cast let alone 50% of the electorate? May's Tories got 42% of votes cast in 2017 and she has pretty much ignored the other 58% of voters ever since.

You seem to be opposed to a second referendum TROY. Why?

Yes I'd love to see those figures that don't exist.

In a general election voters are split down all sorts of issues local and national.

Which people is a general election supposed to be the will of?

Its got nothing to do with being idiotic his manner is smug. He's an absolute cunt. Dripping with contempt for those who don't think the sun shines out of his arse.

Back bench MPs are irrelevant. So are front bench ones under Corbyn too he's been through about 400.

Anyway the "beasts" of his party are united against him. Only a matter of time before he's pushed.

All parties are infested with those who simply hate the electorate. These are the MPs that invariably win out. The people need to stop voting them in.

1. Sex with the Mrs tonight? (After all, you are Norfolk’s love rocket!)

2. Is it about going on one of those speed awareness courses for the 5th time?

3. Thinking about taking a break from the forum for a while?
