I’m sure you can all work out where I am for a couple of night by the following picture...
I’ve been up since 3am this morning and spent 5 bastard hours on a coach to get here. God knows why as all I wanted to originally do was go to Ho Chi Min for a new visa.

Two out of three isn't bad I suppose.
Been to Hanoi, and Hoi An, but the best by far is Halong Bay. Absolutely fantastic. (they all were really)
Have you learned yet that there's no point waiting for the traffic if you want to cross the road ? Walk out carefully if its the usual of hundreds of small motorbikes, and they'll go around you as though you were a fish in a stream. Be more careful with cars, and definitely don't try it with a bus.
Enjoy yourself.

The plan to go to Ho Chi Min has been shelved as we ended up buying a package deal for northern Vietnam.
We are currently in Sapa and will be going to Da Nang and somewhere else that has slipped my mind.
We have been up and down a mountain on a coach this afternoon driving on a cliff edge which has everyone on edge.
The driver was fantastic. I don’t know how he got it to our destination to be honest as he could turn the coach round on a 5 pence.

If you can, a must-see are the Cu Chi tunnels just north of Ho Chi Min City (Saigon). Its fascinating how they survived the American war, (as they called it), and what they did to survive. It was whilst crouched down in one that I learned I was claustrophobic , even though they had been made bigger for us tourists.
