Well, the site seems to be struggling for contributions. Little to read except for Nat's love-life and editing advice, along with one or two amusing snippets from Bonce, as usual. Otherwise it's pretty quiet despite the importance of the major dilemmas facing the country and Cummings' extraordinary exploits. The message that Nutters were fed up of politics and Boris-bashing has been made clear.
However, I find this bit of news fascinating and may provoke some response:

What can you expect from a man who claims he drives 60 miles to test his eyesight?
I recommend having a look at the front page of the Daily Star if you can - it is like a classic Private Eye cover.
SPOILER ALERT
If you can't find it or can't be bothered it features a cut out cut out Cummings mask and new advice from the police to not drive if you are blind.

Even if you don't like the content, you've got to admit this is a briliant piece of writing from Marina Hyde

It's a great piece. Went out and got the papers for the first time in 3 months, after having given them up. Living without them was fine until the lock down, when I started to miss them.okocha wrote:Even if you don't like the content, you've got to admit this is a briliant piece of writing from Marina Hyde

Brilliant!
I wonder how many posters will read it though.

I read it all, and though I don't particularly like her style of throwing in long or strange words now and then, to make it sound as though its well thought out, she makes some good points. I believe Boris has made an important decision, only this time, its the wrong one, and as the article says, has shown him to be most intent on the Boris bandwagon.
Makes me wonder what we can expect from Brexit, but I have the feeling it could well come to 'nothing'.

I can't defend Boris's behaviour in the last few days, he has lost a wheel off his wagon and the other three look rather unstable.
Yesterday's performance at the Downing Street lectern was pathetic . His treatment of questions from the Lovely Laura and Professor Peston about that arrogant git Cummins was woeful.

What I will say is this easing of the lockdown is way too early.
It's just gone 4pm and already the locals are breaking out the BBQs, and it looks like there's enough food to feed every tosser in Preston. And it probably will.
I read yesterday we were still getting 7000-9000 new cases a day. I reckon there'll be 9000 new cases on my street by midnight.
How on earth can you ease lockdown when potentially 9,000 people are still getting it every day? I can see nothing but a second wave within a matter of weeks.
This is weak leadership in my opinion. The people don't need to be asked, they need to be told to fucking stay at home or go to prison.

Agree with all of that Nat. Have to say, I'm getting quite disappointed with the government as a whole. Seem to be ineffective and unable to make decisions, or change them, quickly.

I voted for Brexit and for Boris at the General Election. I know he doesn't do detail but he had the charisma and tactics to win an 80 seat majority.Natasha Whittam wrote:What I will say is this easing of the lockdown is way too early.

I know he has been very ill, but he now looks totally out of his depth. His Trumpesque behaviour in shaking hands with everybody in the hospital months ago now, was the first sign that he doesn't do reality.
He worries me.
I completely agree with your views on the easing of the lockdown and the potential for a second wave of the virus.

There's little doubt the government have been poor. I don't blame them for the slow response at the start of the outbreak, but once the virus was established and it was clear what needed to be done, the government have been way too soft.
Sometimes leaders need to lead. Forget about peoples feelings and rights, and do what is best for the country in the long term. Right from the start it should have been an order to lockdown, not a request with a paltry fine if you're found to be where you shouldn't.
This recent nonsense about only seeing 6 people is bollocks, it's a green light to pass the virus to every person in the country.

You expect the people that make up the cabinet to be of above average intelligence. Unfortunately too many of them have been the opposite.

Looking on the bright side the easing of the lockdown does distract attention away from Cummings though.

The BBQ is still going strong. Social distancing has been replaced by hugging and wrestling.
