Thanks Wander your initial commentary got me intrigued so I watched the ending. But made me watch us lose ha. Was quite exciting…

We had it won after Liam's over, but an abysmal over from Jordan threw it away....wides, long hops and freebies....Woakes wasn't much better!

Lancashire start their first game of the season this morning at Kent.
James Anderson hasn't played any meaningful cricket in months and months so you'd expect him to be raring to go.
But guess what, he has been made unavailable by the ECB so he won't play. Ditto Mahmood. The first test against New Zealand doesn't start until June!
This is exactly why English test cricket is so poor - the poor buggers never play any 4 day cricket. You want them coming into that first test with games under their belt and hopefully a few wickets, instead they will have been watching daytime telly for months on end.
Can you imagine Gareth Southgate telling Spurs not to pick Harry Kane between internationals? Of course you can't because it would be bloody stupid.
Only in cricket.

I would rather look at Bonce's slipper collection than watch this boring shite.

Shout out to Bolton's Josh Bohanhan...

Career-best for Josh Bohannon
Lancs 379-3 v Glos 252
Bolton's finest continues to make hay at Old Trafford as he moves to 175.
He goes past the 174 he made on the same ground against Derbyshire back in 2019.
Get a hundred and then make it a big one, that's certainly what the best players do and Bohannon has a similar taste.

Yip Vilas 100 not out as well.
Lunch.
Just for info - Matt Parkinson is also a Bolton lad.
Has the makings of a good season for Lancs, we seem to have a decent county side and Butler is on fire in the IPL right now and looks to be out of the England squad so who knows what we could do in the various one dayers as well?
Our biggest competitor this year might well be the usual wet weather in 'sunny' Lancashire!

Yes, ex-Bolton School boy already on England's radar as ideal for Test matches with his very sound technique and ability to concentrate for long periods. Trouble is Lancs may well lose him to international representation....boltonbonce wrote:Well played lad. 200.
Would be offset somewhat if Buttler became available but his form in the Indian Premier League is currently stellar, with three hundreds at a rate of knots already in the new season, so any availability for Lancs is also likely to be limited.

Wow. Got tense, but got there in the end.

Watched the last few overs on Youtube......long-drawn-out tension and, finally, huge relief and excitement. Great effort by Gloucestershire to try to save the game but we look formidable.

Yes, I saw the end on Youtube as well.
Couldn't quite work out why Anderson didn't have a go in the last few overs but I've been impressed with what I've seen so far of Hasan Ali.
Really we should be knocking over teams like Kent (last match) and Gloucestershire and not having their tale enders hang around as they have.
Next up for us is Hampshire away and along with Yorkshire and ourselves were my three favourites for the title at the start of the season.
Yorkshire surprisingly didn't knock over the Northants tail today and only managed a draw.
Should be a good game at Southampton - should be on Lancs CCC YouTube as well!

Here we go again - an old look England in a Test series against NZ with Anderson and Broad back in the fold.
Great bowling performance by England to get the tourists out for peanuts, but sure enough we are already seeing a mini-collapse in the England batting when they should be piling on the runs in sunny conditions.
A game they should win, but I suspect they'll cock it up.

NZ 45-7 at one stage and might have a first innings lead.England's batting is so weak the 87 runs scored by NZ's last 3 wickets might be matchwinning.
