Not really Oko, it portrays an experience and acceptance of reality way beyond your tender years “son.” 😉

On the day that the Russian propaganda machine TASS was hacked, our government's own propaganda machine sprung into action.

This morning, a new directive was sent to all UK employers that from April when the 10% increase in NI kicks in they should print the following message on all payslips:

"1.25% uplift in NI funds the NHS, health and care"

Why do they feel the need to compel Employers to underpin Tory government policy messaging in a legal document?

Do they also feel the need to explain Income Tax and what it will be spent on in the same document? Or is it just pushing out political straplines?

You're at it again - posting social media bollocks without bothering to see if it is true or not.

For a start this was requested of employers to do this as far back as a month ago - not this morning as you state!

The NI increase is a separate tax to NI per se and HAS to be shown separately on pay slips.

This is from the governments official website today -

New information for payslips

HMRC is asking employers, where appropriate, to include the following message on payslips:

‘1.25% uplift in NICs, funds NHS, health & social care’.

This message is for the payslips of employees who have to pay the increased contribution between 6 April 2022 and 5 April 2023. This is so that they understand what it’s helping to fund.

From April 2023, you’ll need to report the levy as a new item through your payroll. You will need to show it on payslips as a separate 1.25% levy for employees who have to pay it.

Read the official government website - it's all there in black and white and has been since the 31st January.

Obviously I've not seen your 'mail' but it looks as though your 'interpretation' of it is not the one that is clearly and unambiguously stated on there.

I know you are not prone to be biased or hateful of the government in any way that might cause you to distort or be prejudicial of anything you read about them or what they do...

Oh wait....

Just seen Boris calling yet again for the EU to cut it's dependence on Russian oil and gas which the EU has vowed to do - but it won't happen overnight and anyhow other countries such as Pakistan are seeking to increase imports from Russia which will ameliorate the financial impact of sanctions.
Boris has made a big deal about how the UK is far less dependent on Russian oil and gas imports than the EU but disingenuously, he has struggled with the truth yet again.

What he failed to mention was that since we left the EU, the amount we import from Russia has DOUBLED.
And to compound the issue, there is a huge loophole in the sanctions against Russian registered ships as third party country ships are bringing Russian oil and gas to the UK.
According to this Tory rag, Britain will import £2 billion of Russian oil and gas this year - and Boris needs to STFU and focus on fixing the problem rather than spouting political soundbites and half-truths.

With this lot in control, we're in Dire Straits..

Germany seized a yacht, France seized a yacht. So what, Germany are still sourcing nearly half their oil from Russia and have declined to stop just like Italy. We import some LNG and you think we’re rubbish. Get a life Lusty and stop making yourself look foolish with posts like this.

We've doubled our imports of Russian gas since Brexit. Fact.
But as a Tory, don't you find it irritating when Boris makes all these claims about how tough he's being on Russia when in fact he isn't? Using the Ukraine situation to make political capital instead of actually making a difference is nauseating.

And that seems to be the opinion of the Tory media so I'm surprised at you White. Smile

It might be a fact but you've deliberately not told the whole story have you?

Our imports of Russian gas in that time went up from just 3% of our gas usage to just 6% - hardly a massive rise - and hardly something we rely on is it?

How UK imports of Russian liquefied natural gas have doubled

Russian gas now accounts for more than 6 per cent of all of the UK’s natural gas imports, up from just 3.2 per cent in 2018.

https://www.newstatesman.com/chart-of-the-day/2022/03/how-uk-imports-of-russian-liquefied-natural-gas-have-doubled

...and it looks as though we are stopping receiving it already - what was that about the government taking no action???

UK ports 'working at pace' to block Russian ships

UK ports are "working at pace" to block Russian ships after the UK passed a law banning them from entering port, a trade body has said.

The UK was the first country to make such a move due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and the EU is considering a ban.

Russian ships are diverting, are at anchor, or are being packed up, the UK Major Ports Group said.

Ukraine sanctions: UK dockers refuse tanker of Russian gas

Dockers in Kent have refused to unload two tankers of Russian gas, forcing them to go elsewhere, a union has said.

The Boris Vilkitsky and Fedor Litke have been diverted from the Isle of Grain, the largest terminal in Europe for importing liquefied natural gas.

Unison head of energy Matt Lay said staff were "determined to support the Ukrainian people and uphold the sanctions imposed against Russia".

I don’t think Boris is being any more irritating than other Western leaders who all put their own needs before those of Ukraine, whatever their public pronouncements may be.  Doubling our imports of Russian oil and gas from almost nothing to a bit more doesn’t compare with the likes of Germany, Italy and most of the former Soviet states, so I really don’t know why you keep going on about it.

You can’t just switch off overnight things that will damage or impoverish your electorate. As a government your duty is to look after your own people not Ukraines, however much we sympathise with them. There’s no doubt there will be a sea change in policies of the West, whatever now happens, especially on energy supply and storage. I also don’t think being a Tory comes into the matter either because whoever was running the country would be making the same decisions just now.

So when I called out Boris for claiming it's half the actual number AND pointed out that the Russian gas is being brought in by non Russian ships the best you can come up with is this irrelevant-to-my-point shit?

FFS grow up. And learn to read.

???

You never actually said that Johnson claimed it was "half the actual number" (and what is the 'official' number anyway - I for one don't believe everything I read in a paper) and I answered your point about Russian gas brought in by non Russian ships by showing that the dockers were refusing to work on them (or did you not bother to read that bit!).

As for growing up you're a fine one to talk, seeing that you refuse to be adult about absolutely anything the Tory Party does - how childish of you is that, holding grudges and throwing strops over them, at your age!

Whites63 is the one talking the sense here - not you, for example...

a) is irrelevant to what the Daily Express actually reported and b) is an opinion - which you're entitled to.
