maybe they should send some scouts to this forum, especially when the next managerial vacancy occurs (at the end of the season!)

I put my managerial hat in the ring when Coyle was sacked - my application letter is here [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Take N'gog out the team and we don't continue with 10 men, somebody comes in to replace him and could quite plausibly do a better job.

4 million is silly money for an injury prone striker who rarely shows his best, if it was real we should take it and re invest the money.

As mentioned previously I'd like to see the youngsters being given game time and a chance to prove themselves this season but Dougie hasn't given up hope of making the playoffs yet as this league is so tight. It works the other way too - we're only just above the relegation zone so I reckon dougie will continue with his current approach for now. If we rise up the table he'll be justified and won't change - and if we sink down he won't risk youngsters so I can't see it happening either way. I'm expecting to see a bit of midfield shuffling with the introduction of Medo and Holden at some stage plus the return of Wheater, possibly Mills but that apart I can't see any fundamental change in attitude from the manager for now.

For £4million, we have to let him go. We've got enough strikers now to cope until the summer, and as Tasha says, he will just keep taking a big wage which we cannot afford and eventually go on a free, something we also cannot afford.

Plus, he only has like 1 good game a month anyway.

If this is true, they should transfer the money now then there's no back out, send Ngog over their to get used to their team, culture , and language .

We could get the ball rolling at least.

Just when you thought there were no more mugs left....

If anybody is crazy enough to give us £4m we should take the money.

Most of us are hoping that SKD won't get a new contract.

I'd like to see SKD stay on in some kind of ambassador role, but yeah I think we're seeing the last of Super Kev as a Bolton player.

You are forgetting the lad is only 23 ok no world beater but he has never had a real stay in the team, 4m wont get a decent striker and anyway what makes you think it will spent on players? I hope he stays and proves he can be a world class player, If he goes then be prepared for more SKD and long ball from the baby Meerkat.

I don't really see Ngog coming good let alone being a world class player. He is too inconsistent and was not rated by Liverpool fans from what I can remember.

Whilst £4m is not a great deal of money, if Dougie is given most of it I am reasonably confident that he can spend it more wisely than Coyle ever did. His record at Palace shows that he does spot and develop talent - look at their continuing success after he left.

And as for SKD - we need to move on.

I think Lennie Lawrence is the brains behind the transfer dealings.

i think N'gog needs to stay with us for himself. otherwise he will just become a mercenary who keeps moving from team to team with people thinking they can get the best out of him but not getting the chance to settle anywhere he won't. DF seems to similar to coyle to me in that he doesn't seem to have the man management skills to get the best out of players. look how much game time eagles is getting even though he is clearly not performing. He is obviously sticking him on the team sheet every game because he thinks this will be the game he will get it right. The guy needs a rest and a chance to be given to someone who wants to play. Agaain this is where i think we need to give youth a chance as they will be passionate enough to give there all as they will have a point to prove.

The only thing N'gog has going for him is that he is young and so might turn out to be a decent player. But 10-15 minute decent cameos from the bench isn't enough. When he has started games, he's been anonymous and might aswell be on the bench.

I think we'd be be mad not to sell for £4m. We can get a decent Championship striker for that.

Ngog has the talent to be a very good player, but he isn't a kid anymore he needs to do it for 90 minutes every week.

He hasn't has many chances to play in a striking partnership and I thought that's where he would do OK, but it just hasn't happened for him yet. Think he can score if he gets the chances though.
