I don't know what has happened to Brother Dar because we still haven't received his October contribution and we are now in November. By pure coincidence, I bumped into Kofi Annan in World of Wicker, this afternoon, and I was telling him about Darequam  and Mo and our charity work in Africa. Kofi was most perturbed when I told him about our sponsorship for the Church of the Holy Cow. He has strongly advised me to ignore any further e-mails from impoverished African vicars on the basis that they are all scammers.

Kofi was actually a serious bigwig in the African politicial scene and although he hails from Ghana he still has serious clout with the United Nations African programme.

He was telling me that since his retirement from current world affairs he has bought a small beverage plantation in a small town in Dumfries and Galloway where he plans to see out the rest of his days in quiet solitude with the help of a few Rumanian and Bulgarian farm labourers who are due to arrive on the estuary at  Loch Salmond towards the end of November.

Report 1

Report

After a very boring day at my place of residence, I decided to go out to the stadium nearby and scout for the boys who might be out to play. It was a Friday evening, having it in mind that most dudes would have set out to go clubbing or partying to shake out the stress the accumulated during the week, I still went to the place. On getting there, it didn’t take me too long to notice some young lads playing a five aside football at an area around the stadium. Like my usual cliché, I sat down perfectly to watch them play, and after some time, I noticed Tunji who was very familiar because I had once spoken to him before on this scouting issue. He played so well while he was with the ball, and operating as a striker, he showed he does not fear any defender and is ready to go head on like a nuc.

Report 2

By chance, I was there when the whole thing started, resulting from a little form of argument. It was a bunch of soccer fans with limited knowledge of football in the EPL, they were on talks about Arsenal being able to beat Chelsea in the coming league cup clash, While some side supported, the other didn’t, I was there having a good time paying attention to the funny part of their arguments. Later it went from that to ‘çan u even play soccer’. Before I knew what was happening, they fixed a date for a clash and were to play against each other with other boys joining them. Good news for my scouting voyage as I made it my duty to be there when the face off begins.

On the D Day, the match didn’t start until after some cheeky arguments on the same issue. As they started, I watched them and noticed that there were 2 exciting boys in a particular team. Check out the team with no top on, the boys wearing white shorts, Kunle and Dapo, cooperating well together to ruthlessly tear their opponent’s defence line. They eventually won with a 4 – 2 victory, courtesy this 2 boys .

Report 3

A rough match with a lot of hard tackles involved but it was worth watching as I saw someone of a build of a strong defender. His stand at the back was fearful for some of his opponents, and even when he was battered with ferocious tackles, he still stood his grounds and helped secure the goal area. It was a wonderful display from Ajishebutu who showed how solid he his. However, I should point out the fact that though he would be suitable for a centre half, but the tackles he throws at will might be the deciding factor if penalties can be awarded in the match.

Report 4

Scouting commencing for the month at the National Stadium, with the strong boys playing a very physical type of football. Standing few metres away from the lines, it was another interesting occasion for me. I watched the boys play for quite a while and after watching different sets replace each other, I found a point of interest in Ibrahim Maruf. He played from the wings, stopping his opposition’s advances and when it comes to assisting the attack, he was also there. This is a very strong guy, which I found to be aged 18 already. Looks like a quick baller to me, and could be ballistic if playing for Bolton.
Check the guy with yellow top and short playing from left to right.

In other News

I think Bolton would be smart to move at those Nigerian Under-17 Team, Our number 1o Iheanacho especially, is an example of the next generation of superstars we would be launching out in the coming decade.

Thanks for your monthly support RT, I would be celebrating my birthday on this coming Friday, and would appreciate if you can include a plus on my wage so I can throw a party with my dudes and also a birthday gift.

How old will you be this Friday, Brother Dar? If you can let me know I will throw in a few extra quid so you and your dudes can celebrate your many happy returns with a crate of Nigerian Lager ( Guinness )

I'm off to see Mr Shagpile in the morning because I need some Rhinofloor in my orangery so I'll make sure your wages are sorted out. I'm sure Mr Shagpile said he and his wife Mavis have an account with Western Union so that will be the method of payment. Thanks again for an excellent monthly breakdown of life on the football scene in Nigeria. Dib Dib.

Going off the size of your buttocks on your Avatar I would have thought 28 is about right. No hint of cellulite, chalfonts, clinker, tagnuts or dangleberries. Where is the nudist beach? Is it Port Harcourt?

Just make sure you are suitably dressed if you decide to turn up at the Reebok. The authorities will take a dim view of your naturism tendencies.

We’re kicking things off in November with sponsorship from Boltons very own  Kurt Frobisher, a man with a formidable past…

Kurt was born in Florence, Italy in 1956, the son of a disgraced English civil servant forced into exile during WW2. He moved to Bolton aged 10 and became immersed in the booming sixties music scene.

He formed Mr Creosote and the Bone Shakers in 1972 and set about recording some of the most ground-breaking albums of the 20th Century. As well as recording  ‘Is this the way to Armadillo’ and ‘ Hide your Goldfish ‘ produced by Albert Tatlock  in 1976, his best selling album,  ‘ Who’s been sleeping in my Crib’ ranks highly in most ‘best album of all time’ charts and has been cited as an influence by artists as varied as David Bowie, New Order, Blur, Aphid Twins, Franz Ferdinand, Bert Camphor  and the Arctic Monkeys.

Now retired from the music scene, Kurt hasn’t given up the ghost altogether, and he is currently the choreographer for the Reebok Rebels on match days. He also has  a private box in the ESL where he entertains friends and guests on match days. You can always tell when Kurt is at the game because his curtains are always drawn at half mast and he plays his Vuvuzela whenever we score, which isn’t very often.

He also works on a part time basis for Millets on Corporation Street where he runs the camping section.

Kurt is happy to shell out the readies for 4 tantalising reports.

Just a quick update. Kurt has just been in touch, having read my resume of his background, to point out that he also appeared on Top of the Pops where he performed a classic hit by Paul Shane under his stage name of Theodore ' Ted ' Bovis. It's clear that he can still bang out a decent tune and by all accounts the crowd were amused at the sweetness of his voice. It's not often that we get a real life musician offering sponsorship for Bolton Nuts. ( And we still haven't)

Happy Birthday and many happy returns Darequam!

If you decide to go on the lash in downtown Lagos with your peeps then make sure you raise a toast to Bolton Nuts. If you are approached by any dusky maidens who offer you the opportunity to head back to their pad for some Nigerian discussions just make sure you don't forget your toothbrush!
