The fans were definitely booing the decision and not the player.

But bringing on defenders to "shut up shop" is always a risk.

These "fans" must have been booing a fair bit under big sam then.

Judging by the boos and jeers he got against Leicester, I think they were probably booing Butterfield and not the decision.

Why would somebody boo a substitution to defend a lead in a must win game?

I think it was both tbh, butterfield because he had a shocker against Leicester , and DF for giving him another chance.

If it was like Scott said and it was Butterfield and Freedman's decision to use him again that was booed, I can understand.

Wheater ok, but mills? He's worse than knight! I can see him moving on anyway.

We need a new defence if we gain promotion we need to replace alonso knight and ricketts, I'd look at Figueroa should Wigan drop, he's a solid premiership defender.

It was only after the name Butterfield was announced that the booing began. I felt bad for the guy. He's dire, but there's no need to boo a player who's just here on a month's loan doing his best.

Mills is the worst defender I've ever seen at the club. He makes Knight look like a world beater.

I still don't think i've seen Mills win a header without getting underneath the ball and his passing skills leave a lot to be desired.

The sooner Mills is out of bolton the better.
