During a discussion on great movies with a mate,he mentioned the fact that he'd never seen 'Citizen Kane', which I found quite surprising, said film being a cinema classic. But it got me to thinking about the gaps in my own tick list of movies that I should have seen but haven't,for whatever reason. I've never seen 'Dead poets Society', despite people telling me it's a great film I just don't fancy it. 'Rebel without a cause', no. 'The wild one',no. 'Apocalypse now',no. I've only just watched 'On the waterfront'. Not a bad film considering Brando can't act for toffee. What are the glaring gaps in your cinema CV?

I've never watched ANY James Bond film, I've seen a bit of one (20 minutes) it had some kind of witch doctor in it.
Haven't seen the Godfather or any Rocky films either.

Out of those, if you were only going to see one film, make it Godfather 2.

Anything with James Dean in - hype over substance.
Pretty much all of Chaplin - saw one as a kid, found it boring, still do.
Kramer Vs Kramer - I don't care if it's regarded as a classic, I'm a bloke.
Easy Rider - Can't be doing with "stoner culture." (and that extends to books by Hunter S Thompson - load of gash......)
Bambi / Watership Down - I know what happens and I don't need to see it, thanks.

I've only ever got half way through 'Lawrence of Arabia'. Alec Guinness as an arab is just wrong.

I've not seen any of the Godfathers. And I consider myself a huge cinema fan. Just never got round to it.

Winning an Oscar for best picture isn't much of a guide to whether or not it actually worth watching. I haven't seen most of the films you list and don't care.
The only film I haven't seen that I am curious about is Deep Throat.

Again, it's not bad but it's nowhere near as good as the re-make.
It's set in Preston and is called Deep(dale) Throat.
The bird in isn't too clever though - wonky tits.

There are loads of great films which I haven't seen but I do watch a lot of good movies. One of the things I want to do is work my way through IMDB Top 250 films. I started working from 1 to 250, skipping ones I had already seen. Got to the good, the bad and the ugly. A great film which I would not have watched had it not been on the list.
