Iles hasn't got a clue (as per) and nobody at the club's saying anything.

Unlike Telford Utd, we're not on it yet but the next update is at 4:30 pm.

just seen this on the BN website, this is shocking and Eddie Davies should be ashamed of himself. Fair enough he want's to sell but he has a responsibility to the club which he must fulfill.Chairmanda wrote:[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

It's not the players that i feel sorry for, they will have plenty of cash in the bank it's the people behind the scenes who don't get paid big money and are going to have a stressful Christmas worrying about paying the bills
edit - sorry, just realised this was all on another thread last night

How can we not pay a tax bill? Surely the powers that be must have known about it long beforehand? /

you would think so RT. I know the zeros are very different, but the principles the same even at non league level, and I had a pot which accrued VAT as it happened so that at the end of a quarter we could pay it and no matter what the manager said about all his players having broken legs and being able to sign Messi for a couple of quid (exaggerating for effect) that money was completely ring fenced for HMRC. Whist sounding a bit sanctimonious, I never never never didn't pay anyone at the club, despite the fact I was Chair, not owner. Football is a business, but should aspire to be a business run to the highest standards, not sink to the levels of the most unethical.Reebok Trotter wrote:How can we not pay a tax bill? Sorry Nixon but this isn't the slightest bit shocking.
There was no money to pay everyone last month and no new money has come in so what did you expect you moron?
A terrible shame for the staff? Yes. Shocking? Not in a month of Sundays.

Despite not knowing the facts, there is certainly some question over the ethics and/or competence of the management.
At first glance it does appear that there may be an element of burying heads in the sand going on. Whether this is maliciously intentional or just denial we can only guess at.
Although one of the several alternative explanations could be that if ED has drawn a line in the sand as to further investment in BWFC his position could be that either the new owners will have to take responsibility for debts and wages or administrators deal with it.
It will all come to light eventually.

couldn't agree more wanders, we have no idea what happens behind closed doors. All i was trying to say is I cant conceive of a good reason that the output of those discussions is staff not being paidwanderlust wrote:Chairmanda wrote:you would think so RT. However you try and spin it, it's a shitty trick from Davies.
If he's trying to use other people's Christmas wage payments as a bargaining chip with potential new owners, the man's a douche.
If he simply doesn't want to pay it and prefers to leave it to the administrators to sort out, he's an even bigger douche.
There is no way ED comes out of this looking good.
And that backs up my constant assertion that he doesn't give a shit.
Because he is a douche.

So has it been confirmed that the staff won't be paid or is it simply some sad journo speculating on the obvious? (Hardly speculating - it's just likely unless someone coughs up (they probably will) or the takeover is completed.)Chairmanda wrote:couldn't agree more wanders, we have no idea what happens behind closed doors. As far as I'm aware, the December payment isn't due yet so no staff haven't been paid.
