Really don't know how Acorah got away with it. Listening to him for five minutes would set the alarm bells ringing. He was such an obvious fraud.

Plumber just sorted our dripping tap. £40. It might be a bargain, but I'm not in the plumbing trade.

I preferred the old taps where you could just stick a new washer in. Job done.

Have to say I'm not fond of slippers.
When the cane got banned at junior school, they replaced it with the dreaded "slipper" - by which they meant a size 11 gym slipper aka trainer - with which to beat us kids. On the arse. It hurt like hell and on reflection I have to question the mental health and sexual peccadillos of the teachers involved.
They used to make us bend over a desk and one bloke used to take a long run up so the tension was prolonged as you heard him approach. Obviously jumping out of the way at the last minute used to wind him up and invariably get you another six whacks.
I believe I still hold the record of 42 strokes of the slipper and 3 detentions in a week.
Never worn slippers, never will. Remind me of teachers that thought that 1960 was still in the Victorian age.
