Sometimes you have to be brave and trust the good in people. Priests are honest people and helping to build a church gives me a good feeling inside. Priests don't rip people off.... FACT.

I have seen the photograph of the Church of Bread and Wine and it looks like a genuine Church to me. Why would a Pastor/Parson/Priest tell lies?

It seems to me that you are the only sceptic on here. Nobody else has expressed any reservations so why worry yourself about some imaginary scam?

Are you based in the Indian Sub Continent? If so, would you be interested in doing a bit of scouting for Bolton Nuts? There is a severe shortage of Asian players in the English football league at the moment. If you want to make a few bob I am sure there is an opportunity for you to find us the next Michael Chopra.

Have a think about it because I reckon the funds could be made available for someone like yourself with a keen eye for spotting genuine football talent in your neck of the woods.

Even more good news to report! I have exchanged mobile numbers with Pastor Graves and we had a good chat today. He actually speaks quite good English. He faxed me the agreement document which we have both signed and which confirms that I will not be required to send him any more money until I receive $400 from him as a guarantee. He asked me to supply him with my bank account details so he can deposit the funds but I was wary of handing out this type of personal info over the phone so he suggested that I open an account with the Nigerian International Bank and once the paperwork has gone through he will pay the money into that account. The amount he requires for the building of the church is $77,250 and with that kind of money involved I have told him that I will wait until I have received the cash from him before I proceed further.

To give further proof of his authenticity he has supplied me with a glowing reference from a Father Ted Crilly of the Drumaness Diocese in Ballynahinch, where he did some of his priesthood training.

He also assured me that he is most certainly coming to England next week and I am really looking forward to meeting him.

What a terrible weekend I have had! On Friday afternoon I received a phone call on my mobile from a male calling himself Ezekiel Babalingo who claimed to work for the Nigerian International Bank. He told me that he had got my details from Father Graves and that he was phoning me so that he could open an account for me with the NIB.

His first mistake was addressing me as Mr Trotter! I explained to him that Reebok Trotter is my Nuts username and that my real name is Marcos Imelda. He then asked me to supply him with my bank details plus sort code and he would then open me an account there and then over the phone. I was a bit wary of this because I still hadn't received my $500 guarantee fee so I asked him to give me the bank details from his bank and fobbed him off that I would carry out his request once I had received my $500. He then changed tack and suggested that if I was worried about giving my bank details over the phone I could always pay the $77,250 directly into Western Union and he would then immediately pay me the $500 out of the $77,250. To stall him I told him I would rather speak to Pastor Graves first before I shelled out any more readies.

Over the weekend I have tried to ring Pastor Graves but I keep getting an automated message from an international operator saying that they cannot get a connection at the moment. I eventually got through this afternoon but it went straight to voicemail. I left a message saying I would not be paying any more money upfront until I had received my guarantee fee.

I was that concerned that I might have been ripped off that I made a phone call to my old pal, Alf Ventress who has now retired from Aidensfield Police and now works as a private investigator for Claims4US. I gave him all the information and he told me he would run everything by his old pal Sgt Craddock who is now working in Aidensfield CID.

The news that came back was not good. Ventress reported that the bank account is fake and is operated by a shady international Mr Big fraudster known as James Ibori  who also uses the alias Masambula. Ventress kindly faxed me a copy of his mugshot from when he was last arrested in Nigeria for malfeasance in public office.

If Pastor Graves does try and arrange a meeting at least I will know if he is really Mr Big. Either way, I won't be meeting with him until I get my $500.

It looks like Mo was right and the Pastor is a con merchant. If he does make contact with me I am going to give him a piece of my mind and make it crystal clear to him that I am not handing over another penny until I get my $500 guarantee fee.

The good Pastor has just rang me. He is already in the UK, in London no less. After our conversation I have left instructions with my PA, Betty Swuttocks, to notify me once she has collected the money from Western Union.

Why do you telling him you don't care about the 5000 dollars? Are you the very rich man? Becase you will soon be poor if you keep given your money to crooks. The guy proberly use your money to fly to London or maybe his acterly live in London all the time.. you should have phone your friend ventrass before you sent the money

It's all very well you saying that but I only won a tenner. Are you suggesting I should give £2.50 to each one? That would make me look like a right skinflint.

The Church project is well and truly back on track! Betty has just returned from Western Union with the princely sum of £400 from Pastor Graves. He actually gave me more than $500 with the rate of exchange so I'm off out for a few beers tonight to celebrate his generous offer.

It seems we were all wrong about Pastor Graves after all. I have phoned him to thank him for his generous guarantee fee. He has told me that he needs to fly back to Nigeria tomorrow to supervise the construction. The £5000 I sent him has been utilised wisely to purchase timber supplies plus 10 tonnes of wattle and daub for the construction of the main building. I have decided to go ahead and pay the Pastor the full amount via Western Union and he assures me that the builders will be working round the clock to have the project completed within a month.

I hope the Pastor has a safe journey back to Nigeria and that my little donation will bring spiritual relief to those that most need it.
