I think we may have done Mr Tikkala a grave disservice. I received this e-mail from him this morning.

" Brother Trotter, A thousand salutations to your good self. First of all I must aplogise for not responding to your e mails and phone messages but I have been away for the last two weeks to attend the wedding of my brother in our home town of Trilok Saini.

Our town only has one regristar to carry out wedding ceremonies and he had been ill for some time with a particularly bad case of the ' Delhi Belly '. When he recovered from his illness he was required to perform a mass wedding service on one day and because of this I had to fly back to Jaipur at very short notice. In my haste to make sure I could get to Jaipur in time, I forgot to programme my phone for international roaming and I was unable to take any calls during my stay.

Also, internet reception is very hit and miss so I was effectively cut off from the rest of the world.

Anyway, after the wedding we had a week of celebrations and festivities which involved the brides taking part in a ' dance of the seven veils ' competition and the grooms took part in a ' Whirling Dervish ' dancing competition. My brother came third in the freestyle routine.

Anyway I am now back in America and will happily sponsor NigerianBolton in the future if he is still looking for sponsorship.

Sory for the inconvenience.

Mr P Tikkala.

P.S. I have enclosed a photo of the wedding ceremony with all the lucky brides and grooms and also my brother performing a pirouette in traditional costume.

Its been
more than 3 weeks after the break and
all the guys in the park have begun
to feel the excitement of coming soccer tournaments, also to watch out for was
the number of boys trying to impress the squad pickers in ther various halls. Its
always like this every this time of the session, just like a player wants to
impress in his clubside to get a national call up for a major competition, we
can replicate this with the present situation. Lots of guys are turning up at small
pitches to exhibit ther football talents so as to get a call to represent their
halls or departments/faculties.

As a
particular Friday wind down slowly, I was opportuned to go see some boys play
at one of the halls of residence, this was the great independence hall. Like they
say, thank God its Friday, there were enuf boys at the arena wanting to relax
with the beautiful game of soccer after having a stressfull week gone. So I stood
patiently to observe the players playing together on the pitch. It didn’t take
too long to notice Akiin, one of the footballers playing, he played more like a
striker, and went forward with full confidence, however, the main problem he
had was being patient with the ball whenever he’s about to notch any in. as you’ll
see in the video, akin wasted an opportunity for his team, even though he
later scored for his team to move into
the next set.

Part
of the few competitions being planned to take place was already fast
approaching, one I am very much aware of is the Gala Cup, this is hosted in the
faculty of Technology, and all the Seven departments slug it out with each
other in a one week knock out competition. Matches were already being fixed and
most teams already know who they are to meet. I was at the training camp of the
civil engineering student to see how they were preparing and check out if there
is any potential player I should watch out for. It was still 3 weeks early
before the competition, and I would be too early to judge their preparations as
not all their footballers turned up in the camp to play, but some were out with
them and with their coach were already planning their strategies. They didn’t
seem to have much players in stock, but there were few who impressed as they
divided the boys and set them together to play. The first of which was Raji, a
new student in the team, prior to just getting into the department, and a one
time regular Tunji. While Raji did is thing from the back of the pitch, Tunji
on the other hand was said to be a winger, and I was impressed with his
deliveries whenever he went with his team to attack.

Just like departments were preparing for different competition, the school halls were also grooming themselves for the forthcoming inter hall competition. Today I went to Tedder hall to have a peep on what weapon they are developing for the competition. I was there very early, and had the opportunity of discussing with their head Coach, DEMOSHO, who was well known for his coaching skills in the Agriculture faculties last session in the school, he also took part in the Bolton coaching program which took place in the country years ago and said he is 100percent assure of success with the boys in his possession. I stayed around to watch fractions of his team play at their small pitch, trying to maximize their skills to suit the very game of football. I noticed two players from his stock, who really did well when playing. The first was kunle, who am sure has once featured in one of my reports recently and tayo, a new kid in the squad with a very strong ambition to lead his team to success. The two both play at the midfield, while Tayo is much limited to the defensive part of it.

I must say I am not blinded to the fact that people here see much of a promise from the guy named Puddy Com, and because of this I decided to go to his hall where they were also making preparations for for the coming competition and check on him and maybe the rest of his likes. I was there as early as possible, and as expected I saw the boys gathered up and training together. It didn’t take long to find the likes of Sam Dollar, Christian Udo Sam, Tope who were regular members in the team’s first team. It was as surprising and shocking not to find Puddy there on time. So where was Puddy ?? I asked some of his friends who then told me more about him, that if Puddy was to be a professional footballer, he wouldn’t be different from Baloteli with his taste for trouble and involvement in unnecessary acts when he is surpose to be serious with his game. Puddy was said to be entertaining a babe in his room and because of that boycotted the morning training. Sounds a little disappointed but actually felt I’ll get caught up with him on another day ……..

Finally
the D-day arrives for two halls with the name Bello and Mellanby, the match
scheduled to start by 4pm was delayed and instead started around 5pm in the
evening and both team started playing together without really having a grip of
the game. It was like two league 3 teams playing together, but as things went
on they fond a way to get their rhythm. I have never been to any of the two
halls to check on their preparations, so I wasn’t quite sure which of the boys
was to watch out for. So I sat gently some where to watch the match and study
it my self. By the end of the first half when the score line was still reading
0-0, I had my eyes already stocked on the Bello Midfielder Gbadamosi, who
showed good composure whenever with the ball. As the match restarted at the 2nd
half, the bello team made a good run at goal and was almost bopping it into the
net when a guy called fassasi brought em down in the box. Fassasi is also up
for grab if there is need for a penalty causing defender in the future.
Gbadamosi stepped up confidently to take the kick and he nicely buried it. His goal
went on to be the only goal in the match. Gbadamosi is a student of the
department of geography.

Today
was back to the Gala Cup preparations, and I decided I wasn’t going to spend
any time with other team but my department team, this made me get to the
training pitch early with the boys, and since I was not willing to take up the
role of playing, I limited myself to their easy training styles and was quik to
opt out when I felt any difficulties. The mechanical team boasts of the likes
of Udo Sam Christian, Sam Dollar, Okah, Okeh and all other footballers who were
integral in the role that made them the runners up of last session’s DEAN’s
CUP. I don’t know how the coach did it, but he had most of the stars available
in the team and was only trying to inculcate his idea of tactics into the minds
of the vailable footballers. Sam dollar was outstanding in today’s training,
Okah and Okeh also did enough to still regard them as good footballers.

Another
day, another football match, as Team Tedder play team ZIK in the ongoing inter
hall competition. Team Tedder started the match with the utmost confidence and
was overriding all team Zik’s deffence line, Kunle and Tayo from previous
reports were present in the team, but tayo did not make the line up. As the
match went on and on, another player I saw was to watch out for was tijani from
Zik hall, he wasn’t getting enough supplies from his teammates, but the little
time he did, his runs were almost tearing up the opponent’s deffence. In about
35minutes into the game, the tedder team were lucky to notch a ball in after a
corner kick was played into the keeper’s area and he couldn’t get a grip in the
air, and then it bounced off him and his opponents slightly made contact with
it to get the ball in. As for kunle who
was trying to put his best into the game, it was pretty obvious that players
performance on small pitch is always different to that of the big pitch, while
he was able to control the ball, he wasn’t that lucky when trying to time his passes
and pick out his colleagues on the field. Kunle was finally substituted in the
76th minute, and like 10mins after that, a striker from the tedder
team got a supply from the midfield and with one touch displaced the last defender
and was left with the Goal keeper before calmly putting it beside him to make
it count 2 for his side. That was Tunde and that actually seemed to be the best
thing he did on the matchday.

Back
into the preparation on for the Gala Cup, today I was out to check on the team from the Food Technology department. It should
be known that foo’s star player David Dare has bn suffering prior to an injured
to while training earlier with them, but would be expected back before the
tournament kickstarts. At their training, they were trying to adjust the
players they have to a working tactics that might make them go father in the
tournament. Food tech always mark a below par performance in tournaments due to
the fact that half of the students admitted into the department are female, and
as a result, the little percentage of the available boys ready to play the game
lack that original enthustiastic feel when playing, so losing one of their top
players to injury might really be a setback. However the boys there are not to
be over looked as there might still be good footballers among the few
available. I managed to watch their whole training session and the best of the
players was joseph who seemed to be playing more like a defender or defensive midfielder.

On
a Saturday morning, I decided to go check footballers at the Zik Hall Marakana
pitch and see if there is any main baller there. Off course there were boys on
the pitch playing football, but, the question is were they what I need. They were
playing a set game(knock out on conceding). I sat gently to watch them all play
together as different set of boys replaced the outgoing ones, the game was
entertaining not really cause of the football skills but because of the humor
integrated while the boys played together. However, I was able to spot Sunday,
who as a result of his defending prowess at the back helped his team survive
many other teams as he was fast in
clearing any threat and even when going forward, tracks back quickly and
distribute good passes while maintaining his stands.

The
Inter Hall Competition having reached the semifinal stages resulted in a match
involving Bello Hall and Kuti Hall. Both started well with an interesting
package from both. Kuti with players
like Tope Udo sam and Puddy Com were dominating from the wings and delivering
it to the fore fronts, but the Bello team seemed to have improved in getting
back at their opponents when going on a counter attack. The match was getting
more interesting, not until the refree sounded his whistle for a reminder of
the first 45mins already concluded. At the beginning of the 2nd
half, both teams started again and were both burning pace. 10 mins after, the
Kuti coach brought in Sola,(a guy from Agric Engineering, once featured on my
reports) to bolster the midfield and relieve the pressure on the wings. It
actually worked as at the 78th minute, sola sent a through pass
which Puddy nabbed and sent straight into the net. The fans were still reveling
in the celebration when sola sent another pass again, and this time Puddy cut
in with the ball and then again placed it in. Two goals in like 7minutes, the
Kuti boys have been doing all the work, but sola helped perfect it with Puddy
carrying out the order.

I think it best if we give Puddy Come a wide berth. He sounds like a modern day Stan Bowles type of character. We need talented players who are committed to the Wanderers cause and wont let their dick rule their brain. If Puddy isn't careful and doesn't get his act together he will end up as a wasted talent playing non league football in Nyasaland. Perhaps Heat magazine may be more interested in Puddy's extramural activities ?

Getting back to watch the departments preparing for the Gala Cup, this time I got myself present at the Agric Engineering training Camp. In this department, we have Puddy Com and Sola that featured in the previous report. But due to the fact that they are presently representing their halls, both were not present at the training and instead attend the training at their halls. I studied their training patterns and watched the boys play carefully. One of the footballers that actually caught my eye was a guy named Deola, aka Hardex who wasn’t really dressed as a footballer but played well today at training. His role lies in the midfield and was dependable too when it comes to going back to cover for his deffenders. He is a 200 level student and I actually had the opportunity to speak to me where he promised me that he’ll show off for my cameras.

Its weekend so I went back to the independent Hall to check on footballers playing set. Like every Saturday morning, the boys turne up well to play soccer, and as usuall I was there to watch carefully, I saw Deji, a chemistry student that had once featured in my reports before. I was eager to see how improve his game was and I wasn’t dissapointe as he played well for his team at the time. I also found another player to impress me, this was Kunle, who was said to be from the department of dentistry. He was playing as a striker and played together with Deji to help their team win some little more times. But after some time, Deji got injured and their team was defeated and were replaced by another set of boys.

Video : https://youtu.be/q_z0CnsKUjA

Deji in all red playing towards the camera and Kunle with red short with no top, he played a shot at goal.

Report 13

I went back to Tedder the next Sunay evening and I was so surprised to see Dare david back in action and playing set in his hall. Dare david is the Guy missing from the food Tech Team and it was good to see him back playing some light football. He had good grip on the ball the time I watched him, wasn’t too fit like that but was still able to put some good display. He might be picked for the Tedder team to face Kuti Hall in their next match. Also a main man for the Food Tech team.
The rest of the players were not that impressive.

Another job well done Brother Dar. Mr Burnside has been looking at your contributions on our forum and has been very impressed. He has told me that he will be visiting his bank manager on Friday and will be arranging your payments for the month via Moneygram. ( He doesn't trust Western Union ) after a bad experience with a Nigerian scammer while working on The Bill.

Expect payment in full by Friday because Mr Burnside is a ' Diamond Geezer.'

I think she was commenting on the quality of their ball control and passing ability.

I spoke to Mr Burnside this morning and he is happy with the quality of your footage and the concise way that you prepared your reports.

The only slight drawback is that he is not prepared to cough up for the whole bakers dozen. According to his abacus he could only find twelve video uploads and being a suspicious man where the number thirteen is concerned, he has arranged payment for twelve reports instead. Also he prefers Moneygram to Western Union if that is acceptable to you.

Expect approximately 15,000 Naira on Friday. I will confirm full payment details via PM.

There are currently some security issues surrounding transfer of Naira to Nigeria at the moment via both Western Union and Moneygram.

May I suggest that it would be appropriate to circumvent this embargo by making payment in Mongolian Tugriks.

1 Naira = 8.224 Tugriks.

That's OK. I only discovered the problem by chance as I had to send a security clearance fee to Lagos myself this morning, in respect of a private inheritance matter I am not allowed to discuss. I sent Tugriks instead.

Only just discovered this thread today and decided to have a read through from the beginning. affraid Jeezaloo, that's an hour of my life I won't be getting back again.

Be that as it may, it's good to know there's such a comprehensive and far-reaching scouting and recruitment network going on behind the scenes - so big up to everybody for making it happen - who knows, there could be another Jay Jay out there waiting to be unearthed.

I can't say how sad it made me feel to read about the untimely demise of Mr Hazelnut following the Walnut Whip incident but it's some compensation to know there are still people out there with integrity and fortitude like Hawkeyes Dundee and his ilk to carry on the good work.

Also refreshing to see a thread containing the word "Frottage."
