Brother Dar, I had to nip out to get some disposable blades for my Flymo from B&Q in Budleigh Salterton and the traffic on the M25 was very very slow.

Anyway, on getting home I received a call from Mr Piper who informed me that the Post Office were on strike today ( summat about the quality of the mailbags ). It's only a one day strike so expect payment tomorrow.

Good morning Brother Dar, I have managed to sort you out with a sponsor for May in the form of lifelong Wanderer, Crispin Woodhead. As well as supporting Wanderers, Crispin is also the secretary of the Bolton branch of the England supporters club. He organises all England away trips for Bolton fans from his plush office in his bedsit in Radcliffe.

He wishes you good health and happiness and is prepared to cough up for 4 tantalising reports.

March

Report 1

March 15
9:30am Independent Hall, on my frequent duty of scouting. Boys were on the
pitch as usual, playing the common 4 aside set game. I took my position and
observed each individual on the pitch as have always been doing. I had to
endure with 3 different set of boys before I could finally see a guy worth
paying attention to. A student of the department of Arabic studies named
Abdusalam, should be in the ages of 17 to 20. He was playing from the defense
line from his team. He showed great skills in stopping opposition and was also
outstanding when going upfront to help with the attack. From the way he played,
it wouldn’t be too bad to stick him in the wing back position or defensive
midfield role.

Watch
Abdusalam in the green like Top, helping his team.

Report 2

Straight
from the foot of the block where my room is located are these guys playing
football for their own relaxation. This is due to the little break available to
the in their academic duties. This has actually been going o for a while,
without me thinking of paying them any attention since they are not really the
so much devoted types. But today, a little voice said to me that the boys here
would be part of the few that would represent their floors in the inter floor
competition scheduled to hold in the coming semester. So I took to the pitch to
get a good view of the dudes playing. Apart from some funny displays, I was
able to spot a guy, ‘Akinsefe’ who was like the man for the whole day on this
small pitch. He plays most of the time like a mid-fielder, but on a standard
pitch would definitely work as a forward. Watch him as he gives some movement
here (the guy in an Arsenal jersey).

Report 3

I was at
Kuti Hall to see a friend of mine Chifu! For some group work delegated to us by
our department. On going through the process of our discussions, I noticed boys
playing a four aside set game, so I paid minor attention until when I finished
with him and then started to fully focus on what they were playing. It was
Omishakin’s performance that got my mind
blown. So much skills when handling the ball with his foot. He is a clear
forward, and I got to speak to him about my intentions. Although he wasn’t too
moved because he didn’t believe all what I said especially the working for Bolton
part. Its however my duties to still further talk to him and know if he is in
or not. Pls watch as he displaced a player and helped is team to score. Dark top,
grey like shorts.

Video: https://youtu.be/icKyJlFXji4

Report 4

Early
morning soccer would never elude the boys of Nnamdi Azikwe hall, They must have
been there playing from the dot of 6am. Different pitches available for boys to
pick and start their trade. When I got to the pitch I watched both as a soccer
fan and a Bolton scout, enjoying the quick display of soccer after a long night
rest. So when it got to that point when I’ll notice a player, it wasn’t hard,
because this one wasn’t debuting in my list for the first time. His name is
Prince Echem. He played at the back for his side, even though they conceded at
some time due to funny errors by his team-mate, his performance was still
accurate. Watch the guy in a Chelsea jersey .

Excellent stuff as always Brother Dar. I have just got off the phone with Mr Woodhead. He is in Brazil at the moment to watch the football match with England this evening. Fortunately, he has a moneygram account and he has nipped to the post office in Rio de Janeiro and deposited your wages.

I must apologise for the delay in getting back to you but I have just returned from a football fact finding mission in Kandahar which was sponsored by UEFA who are looking at the feasibility of Afghanistan hosting the World Cup in 2025. At the moment the required infrastructure is not up to scratch but with prudent fiscal support I can see it being a real possibility in 2525.

I was fortunate enough to take brunch with the Afghan leader, Hamid Khazi and I managed to persuade him to give the go ahead for a game of football between the British servicemen at Camp Bastion and a Taliban eleven. The game itself was very one-sided with the Brit squaddies tooled up with shin pads and proper football boots. The Taliban players were unaccustomed to kicking a football in flip-flops and I fell asleep once the tally had reached double figures. In the end we all agreed that the game had been more about boosting morale than sporting excellence and a good day was had by all. While in Kabul, I was introduced to a fellow Wanderer who is also a very successful businessman and he has kindly offered to sponsor you for 4 reports in June. I am just waiting for a Bio and photo from him before I post the good news.

Info just in. Brother Dar, your sponsor for June is none other than local Bolton businessman, Alan Jazeera. Known affectionately as Happy Al, he has supported Wanderers all his adult life. Born in Great Lever in 1936 with a Lebanese father and an English mother he got the best of both worlds ( UK Passport etc etc ) ,on leaving school he set up his own coach firm, " Happy Al's " and used to ferry Walkden Whites to all Wanderers games both home and away but during away games he found he wasn't as happy as he should have been so he restricted his coach company to non football activities.

A keen Philanthropist and an even more passionate Phalangist, Al has always had a charitable bent. In 2012 he achieved his finest hour when he teamed up with Walkden Whites to finance the opening of the Hezbollah Community Centre in Walkden. Always quick to jump on the bandwagon to champion any cause deemed printworthy, Al is happy to sponsor you for your June Reports.

Good news on the sponsorship front Brother Dar. I nipped into Forton Motorway services on the M6 for a tinkle and I bumped into Norbert Dentressangle coming out of Burger King. He was asking about Wanderers prospects for the coming season and I mentioned your tantalising reports. He has given me the telephone number of a chap who owns a Garden Centre in Bolton and suggested that he would most probably sponsor you next month because he is a big Wanderers fan.

I will let you know how I have gone on once I have got the readies from Happy Al.

Good morning all , this is to inform you all thhat the reports for the month of june is ready, but I'm having troubles uploading it on youtube. If there could be suggestions on other sites where i can upload videos apart from youtube, I'll gladly take my chances. Right now, I am looking at the possibility of using facebook,  ut it might be required that you add me as a friend to view it, so i created a new account with the name "Nigerian Bolton" which can be easily searched for. I am yet to finish uploading the videos anyway.

Good morning Brother Darequam, I was telling Happy Al about your problem with uploading your tantalising reports. Unfortunately he does not subscribe to Facepoop or Twatter or any other social media sites apart from Youtube..

Is the problem you are facing a technical one? If so, Mr Magoo, our resident IT Guru, may be able to offer some assistance in between meals.

Don't worry about the wages. I had a full English breakfast including black pudding, with Happy Al only this morning and he informed me that he had just put in a substantial expenses claim which had been honoured by the HCC. ( Hezbollah Community Centre ) As soon as your tantalizing reports are published I will get him to deposit your funds on Friday morning.

While I am on, I bumped into Largehat in Mothercare and he was asking whether you had received the box which he sent to you, and if so, what was in it ?

I have also got you a sponsor lined up for 4 reports in July so as soon as we conclude our business with Happy Al, I will publish more info on your new sponsor.

Report 1

Scouting commencing for the month at the great Katagites hall, where strong boy play a very physical type of football. Standing few metres away from the lines, it was another interesting occasion for me. I watched the boys play for quite a while and after watching different sets replace each other, I found a point of interest in Ibrahim Dawudu. He played from behind, stopping his opposition’s advances and when it comes to assisting the attack, he was also there. This is a very strong guy, which I found to be aged 21 already. I’m not sure his age is on bolton’s side, but he sured play too well for his age.
Chck the dark guy with Band-Aids on his leg playing from left to right.

Report 2

Info well passed about the friendly match between maths department and chemistry, as on getting there the whole pitch was set for the show down. I know very much about both departments as I’ve watched both train and play in the past. The only reason why this seemed a little different was because of the fact that the match was limited to their second year students alone, none of which are known to me. The match started as scheduled, having a slow start in the first half. The dull start of the match must have been because of the limited availability of players as they cannot pick out of their level. Later in the first half at about 30mins, things changed, the maths department were attacking with more confidence. A particular player Akinde was the full force in this operation. He played as an attacking midfielder and was distributing well to his forwards and also aided in series of counter-attacks. Early in the second half the maths department got a goal through the assist of Akinde. It was a superb television goal and the players jubilated well. As the match approached the stop-time, the chemistry department who were unconvincing from the match kick off got a fluke goal. A tie was not the best result for maths, but they couldn’t change it as the match ended.

Report 3

The west side collection of boys almost unknown to each other on the university’s sport complex. Students from different halls, and some, maybe not from inside the school all came to the pitch for one sole aim, which is kicking the ball. They had enough players to pick 8 aside and play an interesting football. It was all fun watching them play together and trying to forge a bond with their team-mates for co-operational purpose on the pitch. After watching them play for more than 30mins, I spotted Aloha and Jeremy. Both in opposing teams. Aloha was playing as an holding midfielder, and the great thing about him was his dribbles and technique of moving the ball. Might not be Iniesta standard, but was thrilling. Jeremy on the other side was playing as a forward and his own good point is the pace and positioning.

Report 4

I made my way into the training camp of the Agric Engineering students, it was reported that they were planning a friendly match with the industrial engineering department. On getting there, I saw the likes of Kunle, Bebo, Hamzat but no Puddy comb. I monitored them as they trained together and all were doing well apart from the fact that Kunle and hamzat were outstanding in display. Kunle the tall guy in a red manu jersey is known to play best as a striker, while hamzat a defensive midfielder was kitted in yellow and he showed cool touches while training. I try to cover the friendly match if it holds.

Report 5

It’s no news that football can be found in the less expected places, and this is the case when you get to a handball court and you meet men playing football without fear. This of course re affirms the fact that football is superior to all sports. It was a friend of mine who old me about the piece of football on the handball court. I wasn’t disappointed getting there and finding a lot of guys jeering to play football, but on the long run, I wasn’t too impressed with the quality of football thrown into display. They were all older than age 20, and were not a good option to name as a prospect. That I would be back at the court for scouting purposes, now I can’t say much. Thank you

In other news, did you watch the Nigeria vs Spain match ?? it was topnotch for the eagles with the only missing piece in forwards. Forget the scoreline, we played well, and mikel was on top of his game, bossing the midfield against the likes of Xavi Iniesta. I hope we get England again in the worldcup groupings.

Brother Dar, I didn't really have a lot of time to ask what was in the box because he had only nipped in Mothercare to get some Baby Wipes. Next time I see him I will ask him.

Expect full payment tomorrow. Nice work once again.

Sad to hear about the schoolchildren being murdered in Northern Nigeria. It's about time Captain Wada cracked a few Boko Haram skulls.

Brother Dar, I have some excellent news to report. You could have knocked me down with a feather. I have just got off the phone with Al. He told me that he is quite well connected, having greased the right palms over the years. He said he met Andy Murray when he celebrated Hogmanay in Peebles and Andy promised him that if he won Wimbledon he would bring the Gold Cup to the Hezbollah Community Centre in Walkden! Anyway, true to his word, he turned up today and everyone was thrilled to bits. While breaking a few Onion Bhajis over lunch, Al was telling him about your sponsorship and your work on the Nigerian football scene. Andy made it clear that he has always supported Dunblane Rovers but he has kindly offered to sponsor you for 4 reports in July.

Andy is due to fly out to Iran on the 24th July to take part in the Tehran Tennis Open so it's important that you get your reports in before the 24th July. For such a magnanimous gesture at such short notice I think he should be given a Knighthood.

Picture enclosed of Andy holding his trophy aloft for the HCC.
